After combing through the newly updated 2024 rankings, we have a very stout watchlist. I saw a lot of new-to-me names and faces, and some I remember from scouting. We have a very talented class of 2024, so who is the must-see talent on the 2024 watchlist?

[player_tooltip player_id='216523' first='Audrey' last='Terry'] - Setter/Libero - TAV Houston 17 Adidas

Dual position athlete [player_tooltip player_id='216523' first='Audrey' last='Terry'] has been transitioning to libero over the last year. While she has been a setter for the majority of her career the switch comes after her high school season, where she was the leading setter for her varsity team, Grand Oaks. Audrey is a 2-year letterman for her high school team and has extensive club playing experience at the highest levels. She brings a lot of volleyball IQ to the table as a libero after spending all those years getting a different view from the setter position. I admire her ability to fit into the libero role seamlessly for TAV Houston 17 Adidas this year and is one of the main reasons they have already qualified.

[player_tooltip player_id='269790' first='Brooklynn' last='Sheridan'] - Setter - Texas Legacy

High school teammate of [player_tooltip player_id='216523' first='Audrey' last='Terry'] is setter [player_tooltip player_id='269790' first='Brooklynn' last='Sheridan'], who first got our attention at the Top 250 Expo. She was a new name and face to me at the time, but since the Expo, I have been keeping up with her schedule. She really impressed me with her agility on the court both defensively with her speed, and offensively with her jump setting and change of direction. Brooklynn plays for Texas Legacy out of Tomball and has really improved over the last 2 years. She is an excellent defender as well as server.

[player_tooltip player_id='181962' first='Emma' last='Scott'] - Middle - NRG 17 AMPD Navy

Hard-hitting middle [player_tooltip player_id='181962' first='Emma' last='Scott'] first got our attention after her successful school season with Blum, winning the State Championship. Blum easily held off D'Hannis for the crown, and Scott played a huge role in that win being a force at the net as a blocker. Emma's skills don't stop at blocking, she is a high flyer with a lot of pop on the ball, and she can put a ball away. Being from a small school has made Emma a very well-rounded player, allowing her to pass and serve and develop all skills at a high level. She is one of the better-passing middles in her age division.

[player_tooltip player_id='254303' first='Sophie' last='Corbeil'] - Outside - Katy United 17 Adidas

[player_tooltip player_id='254303' first='Sophie' last='Corbeil'] is an outside hitter from Stratford High School, who just had one of the best seasons in their school history. One of the outside positions was led by Sophie, who was dominant all season long. Her 6'1 size makes her a force on the outside, and you could often see her blasting through blocks or tooling off the top of the block. Sophie now plays for Katy United 17 Adidas where she is seeing a lot of success playing right side as well, using her size to add to the block.

[player_tooltip player_id='222795' first='Semaj' last='Cox'] - Libero - [program_tooltip program_id='431166' first='Houston' last='Juniors']

[player_tooltip player_id='222795' first='Semaj' last='Cox'] has been having one stellar start to her season, posting double-digit digs in almost every 2 set match. She already has 6 matches with 11 digs or more. She is a very active defender, who plays a lockdown left-back defense. Setter dumps are hard to execute against Cox because of her quick reaction time. Her speed and reaction time are definitely her best qualities as well as her long reach. She seems to be able to play balls way outside of her platform range.

[player_tooltip player_id='252886' first='Jordyn' last='Gove'] - Outside - Amarillo XTreme Queens 17

State Champion [player_tooltip player_id='252886' first='Jordyn' last='Gove'] had an outstanding performance at the State Tournament this year, dominating from the left side of the court. She never let up and was able to execute for 2 straight games without fault. Her power is what impressed me from the start. She banged balls in the semi-finals with no problem, but what impressed me further was her ability to stay consistent out of system with Canyon Randall's serve receive faltered a bit. I haven't had the opportunity to see her this club season, but I am excited to see what another year of growth does for this already heavy hitting outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='198344' first='Taylor' last='Larkin'] - Middle - Houston Stellar 17 Elite

Houston Stellar 17 Elite has already had a strong start going 7-0 a the Tour of Texas stop 1. [player_tooltip player_id='198344' first='Taylor' last='Larkin'] is a part of this well-rounded team and she is known for big blocks and even bigger swings. Even though she just made our watchlist officially, she has been on everyone's watchlist for some time. If you know about Taylor then you already know about her momentum-changing blocks that get major reactions from her teammates and the crowd. She also uses her high verticle and fast arm swing to put the ball away.

[player_tooltip player_id='180088' first='Chloe' last='Morgan'] - Middle - TAV Houston 17 Adidas

Another Houston middle is [player_tooltip player_id='180088' first='Chloe' last='Morgan'] who is a club teammate with [player_tooltip player_id='216523' first='Audrey' last='Terry'] and has been a huge addition to this already stacked squad. Chloe operates as the M1 on this team, and for good reason. Offensively, she is strong, fast, agile, and has a killer slide that is fun to watch her execute. She is a disciplined blocker that always seems to get her hands on the ball, and has more touches and blocks than I can count.

[player_tooltip player_id='221412' first='Drew' last='Bridges'] - Setter - [program_tooltip program_id='431321' first='Texas' last='Image'] 17 Black

North Texas setter [player_tooltip player_id='221412' first='Drew' last='Bridges'] is officially on the watchlist. Drew has been a solid setter for quite some time, and she is a part of the Denton Guyer volleyball program who has been very successful for several years. Drew is a very consistent, athletic setter, who makes great plays at the net. Her 5'11 frame allows her some leeway on tight passes, and her tempo set in the gap to her middle is fun to watch. She seems to have an easy connection with any hitter she sets.
