With each release of the updated rankings, we have kids that really showed out. Here are five athletes that rose their stock a ton in the last few months.

[player_tooltip player_id='172759' first='Ava' last='Hunter'], 5-10 S, Hamilton Southeastern, Munciana

As one of the two setters in HSE's run to a state title last fall, Ava has gone from a kid "just out there having fun" to a focused athlete that can run a 5-1 on her own. Her high level of development and training is proof that Miss Hunter has grown up a ton in the last two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='173239' first='Avery' last='Freeman'], 5-2 DS/L, Bloomington North, Circle City

Two years ago, Avery didn't exist to me. Last year, she was a pleasant surprise as "the little engine that could". Now, she headlines a phenomenal 16-1 squad and is relentless in doing so. She directs the floor naturally and is always in the right spot at the right time. With feet constantly going and a quiet upper body, Avery gets to a ton of balls and makes her teammates better with her presence.

[player_tooltip player_id='286982' first='Ava' last='Kopf'], 5-5 DS/L, Silver Creek, Union

New to me, but not to Southern Indiana, Ava is a bigger version of Avery listed above. With her high level of training at Union and consistently winning in high school (five straight sectional titles), her rise has earned her a spot on a top team in a program known for how they train their ball control. That should be proof positive of Ava's improvement and dedication to her craft.

[player_tooltip player_id='332517' first='Maggie' last='Hollon'], 5-10 OH, Warsaw, Empowered

With the ability to hit high and hard from anywhere, Maggie's rise comes with the consistent work ethic that defines athletes from Empowered. I got a chance to see her do work at Bluegrass two weekends ago, and it was hard to recognize a kid I had just seen play in the fall. She has a repeatable arm swing, a strong approach and a winning attitude.

[player_tooltip player_id='303593' first='Chloe' last='Edwards'], 5-11 OH, Jasper, Metro

Already an athletic attacker, Chloe has added the ability to play defense, a huge attribute that gained our attention this spring. She can play either pin, yet another reason to pay more attention to her improvement. With a few hundred kills already under her belt at the varsity level, I'm looking forward to her continued improvement.
