February is a BID month in Wisconsin. The Badger qualifier hands out five bids at each age division, and it is one of the most competitive weekends of volleyball in the state. This is a big month for bid winners! Because of this, we will break down articles by age division!

[program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] 18 Elite - National Bid

[program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] 18 Elite won the national bid at the Badger Region Qualifier. This team is a great mix of old and new faces from last season, with some great additions and young talent. Some of the veterans on the team include setter [player_tooltip player_id='122502' first='Bryn' last='Janke'] (Ohio), middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='82915' first='Autumn' last='Flynn'] (Memphis), and pin hitters [player_tooltip player_id='122483' first='Ella' last='Demetrician'] (Michigan) and [player_tooltip player_id='91880' first='Kyla' last='Dunaway'] (Alabama).

One of the new faces includes 2026 libero [player_tooltip player_id='277430' first='Peyton' last='Carlson'] who helped [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] 16 Navy take home the national championship last year and was MVP of the tournament as a 14-year-old. Another new face and key player is [player_tooltip player_id='246946' first='Jordan' last='Czajkowski'] who helped lead DSHA to a state championship this past season. [player_tooltip player_id='122583' first='Izabelle' last='Shea'], a 2024 DS/L is rounding out the back row for this talented team and was the libero for Xavier who took home the division 2 state championship this past fall. DePaul commit [player_tooltip player_id='91911' first='Meghan' last='Scholz'] also joins this talented team for the first time this season.

Sting 18 Gold - American Bid

Sting 18 Gold held onto this American Bid for a whole week before earning their Open Bid at the Boston Qualifier. But since it is a different month, and this is the February update, we will talk about their Badger Qualifier bid for now.

This is a team stacked with talent. They are athletic, powerful, and fast-paced. Maryland commit and setter [player_tooltip player_id='122568' first='Lilly' last='Wagner'] is a key piece of this team. Despite being in the class of 2024, she is playing up an age division this season. [player_tooltip player_id='91895' first='Molly' last='Berezowitz'] (Marquette) and [player_tooltip player_id='91881' first='Kati' last='Goba'] (UW-Milwaukee) run the back row

Offensively, this team is stacked with weapons. [player_tooltip player_id='82916' first='Sylvie' last='Zgonc'] (South Dakota), [player_tooltip player_id='91877' first='Karissa' last='Fortune'] (Drake), and [player_tooltip player_id='61819' first='Lily' last='Wagner'] (Liberty) can all play 6-rotations on the pin. Sylvie was a go-to hitter for Sting at the Badger Qualifier. In the middle, [player_tooltip player_id='82901' first='Maddy' last='McGath'] is athletic, explosive, and impactful.

Sting 18 Black - American Bid

This Sting 18 Black team is one of the grittiest teams on the court in this age division. They are experienced, scrappy, and never back down in a battle. They took [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] 18 Elite to three and beat 608 Juniors 18-1 who had already qualified for nationals. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='91882' first='Olivia' last='deGuzman'] (Illinois Wesleyan) is a key piece of this team. She led DSHA as their libero in their state championship run and proved how valuable she is on every single point.

Middle, [player_tooltip player_id='91861' first='Samantha' last='Fisch'] was playing lights out at the Badger Qualifier. This UW-Parkside commit was fast and powerful in front of and behind the setter. Fellow middle [player_tooltip player_id='119426' first='Riley' last='Laine'] (University of Indianapolis) added a lot of value and power as well. She was always available for a set and was impactful on offense. [player_tooltip player_id='119422' first='Alexandra' last='Kreutzmann'] ran the team like a well-oiled machine.

Pin hitters [player_tooltip player_id='61807' first='Kindyl' last='Kilar'] (Florida International) and [player_tooltip player_id='178097' first='Samantha' last='Kohl'] (ND St. School of Sciences) were both playing at an incredibly high level. From their serve receive to their offense, both Kindyl and Samantha were consistent, explosive, and impactful.

Wisconsin Elite 18-Elite - Freedom Bid

Wisconsin Elite is a fun team to watch play. They are a team of athletes who can dig deep and compete at a high level. [player_tooltip player_id='91946' first='Lexi' last='Bugajski'] sets and hits for Wisconsin Elite. She is committed to play basketball in college and never gives up on a point or game. She is a natural leader on the court and constantly communicates with her team.

Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='184770' first='Emily' last='Lavin'] was explosive and impactful in all six rotations. She has a heavy hand on the ball and a big vertical. Emily was fearless on offense and took big swings on nearly every set she was given. She earned a lot of points for Elite throughout the tournament and could be relied on in defense and server receive as well.

Libero and Middle Tennessee commit [player_tooltip player_id='184100' first='Ally' last='Eckel'] was fearless in the back row and relentless in her pursuit of the ball. She has a consistent platform and was reliable in defense and serve receive. Middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='149606' first='Lilly' last='Bandle'] (Bemidji State) is aggressive and explosive out of the middle. She is an energizer on the court and is engaged in every play.

[program_tooltip program_id='428662' first='Wisconsin' last='Ice'] 18 Prep - Freedom Bid

This [program_tooltip program_id='428662' first='Wisconsin' last='Ice'] team is IMPRESSIVE. They played the Badger Qualifier with seven players and managed to place 6th and earn a bid. They are a gritty and athletic team that never fails to impress. Libero Grace Tallier (UW-River Falls) was relentless on defense and serve receive. She got a touch on nearly any ball that came over the net. 2024 pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='159654' first='Abigail' last='Ongna'] (Winona) was key in the offensive efficiency for Ice. [player_tooltip player_id='175530' first='Emily' last='Brenner'] (UW-River Falls) was a powerhouse on the pin and knew how to put balls away on the court.

Setter [player_tooltip player_id='216839' first='Reinya' last='Balderson'] (Waldorf) ran the show for [program_tooltip program_id='428662' first='Wisconsin' last='Ice']. She has clean hands and a gritty mentality. She utilizes every weapon on offense and moves the ball around well. [player_tooltip player_id='122556' first='Alli' last='Schauls'] is an energizer on the court and makes big plays in big moments. Every athlete on this team was key to their success and earning a bid including [player_tooltip player_id='119429' first='Sage' last='McKeough'] (Lindenwood - trapshooting) and Hayden Willner.
