FC Elite 18 Elite – National Bid
FC Elite 18 Elite won the national bid at the Badger Region Qualifier. This team is a great mix of old and new faces from last season, with some great additions and young talent. Some of the veterans on the team include setter Bryn Janke Bryn Janke 5'10" | S Wisconsin Dells | 2024 State WI (Ohio), middle hitter Autumn Flynn Autumn Flynn 5'11" | MB Luxemburg-Casco | 2023 State WI (Memphis), and pin hitters Ella Demetrician Ella Demetrician 6'2" | OH Appleton North | 2024 State #40 Nation WI (Michigan) and Kyla Dunaway Kyla Dunaway 6'4" | RS Kimberly | 2023 State WI (Alabama).
One of the new faces includes 2026 libero Peyton Carlson Peyton Carlson 5'11" | OH Waupaca | 2026 State WI who helped FC Elite 16 Navy take home the national championship last year and was MVP of the tournament as a 14-year-old. Another new face and key player is Jordan Czajkowski Jordan Czajkowski 5'11" | S DSHA | 2025 State WI who helped lead DSHA to a state championship this past season. Izabelle Shea Izabelle Shea DS/L Xavier | 2024 State WI , a 2024 DS/L is rounding out the back row for this talented team and was the libero for Xavier who took home the division 2 state championship this past fall. DePaul commit Meghan Scholz Meghan Scholz 6'3" | MB Tomahawk | 2023 State WI also joins this talented team for the first time this season.
Sting 18 Gold – American Bid
Sting 18 Gold held onto this American Bid for a whole week before earning their Open Bid at the Boston Qualifier. But since it is a different month, and this is the February update, we will talk about their Badger Qualifier bid for now.
This is a team stacked with talent. They are athletic, powerful, and fast-paced. Maryland commit and setter Lilly Wagner Lilly Wagner 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2024 State #42 Nation WI is a key piece of this team. Despite being in the class of 2024, she is playing up an age division this season. Molly Berezowitz Molly Berezowitz DS/L Burlington | 2023 State WI (Marquette) and Kati Goba Kati Goba DS/L Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI (UW-Milwaukee) run the back row
Offensively, this team is stacked with weapons. Sylvie Zgonc Sylvie Zgonc 5'11" | OH Sussex Hamilton | 2023 State #115 Nation WI (South Dakota), Karissa Fortune Karissa Fortune 6'2" | OH Appleton North | 2023 State WI (Drake), and Lily Wagner Lily Wagner 5'11" | OH Germantown | 2023 State #118 Nation WI (Liberty) can all play 6-rotations on the pin. Sylvie was a go-to hitter for Sting at the Badger Qualifier. In the middle, Maddy McGath Maddy McGath MB Brookfield East | 2023 State WI is athletic, explosive, and impactful.
Sting 18 Black – American Bid
This Sting 18 Black team is one of the grittiest teams on the court in this age division. They are experienced, scrappy, and never back down in a battle. They took FC Elite 18 Elite to three and beat 608 Juniors 18-1 who had already qualified for nationals. Libero Olivia deGuzman Olivia deGuzman 5'5" | DS/L DSHA | 2023 State WI (Illinois Wesleyan) is a key piece of this team. She led DSHA as their libero in their state championship run and proved how valuable she is on every single point.
Middle, Samantha Fisch Samantha Fisch 6'1" | MB Luther Prep | 2023 State WI was playing lights out at the Badger Qualifier. This UW-Parkside commit was fast and powerful in front of and behind the setter. Fellow middle Riley Laine Riley Laine 6'1" | MB South Milwaukee | 2023 State WI (University of Indianapolis) added a lot of value and power as well. She was always available for a set and was impactful on offense. Alexandra Kreutzmann Alexandra Kreutzmann 5'9" | S Hamilton | 2023 State WI ran the team like a well-oiled machine.
Pin hitters Kindyl Kilar Kindyl Kilar 5'10" | OH Whitewater | 2023 State WI (Florida International) and Samantha Kohl Samantha Kohl 5'9" | OH Kettle Moraine Lutheran | 2023 State WI (ND St. School of Sciences) were both playing at an incredibly high level. From their serve receive to their offense, both Kindyl and Samantha were consistent, explosive, and impactful.
Wisconsin Elite 18-Elite – Freedom Bid
Wisconsin Elite is a fun team to watch play. They are a team of athletes who can dig deep and compete at a high level. Lexi Bugajski Lexi Bugajski 6'0" | S New Berlin Eisenhower | 2023 State WI sets and hits for Wisconsin Elite. She is committed to play basketball in college and never gives up on a point or game. She is a natural leader on the court and constantly communicates with her team.
Pin hitter Emily Lavin Emily Lavin OH Brookfield Central | 2023 State WI was explosive and impactful in all six rotations. She has a heavy hand on the ball and a big vertical. Emily was fearless on offense and took big swings on nearly every set she was given. She earned a lot of points for Elite throughout the tournament and could be relied on in defense and server receive as well.
Libero and Middle Tennessee commit Ally Eckel Ally Eckel 5'7" | DS/L Bradford | 2023 State WI was fearless in the back row and relentless in her pursuit of the ball. She has a consistent platform and was reliable in defense and serve receive. Middle hitter Lilly Bandle Lilly Bandle 6'1" | MB West Bend East | 2023 State WI (Bemidji State) is aggressive and explosive out of the middle. She is an energizer on the court and is engaged in every play.
Wisconsin Ice 18 Prep – Freedom Bid
This Wisconsin Ice team is IMPRESSIVE. They played the Badger Qualifier with seven players and managed to place 6th and earn a bid. They are a gritty and athletic team that never fails to impress. Libero Grace Tallier (UW-River Falls) was relentless on defense and serve receive. She got a touch on nearly any ball that came over the net. 2024 pin hitter Abigail Ongna Abigail Ongna 6'1" | OH Marshfield | 2024 State WI (Winona) was key in the offensive efficiency for Ice. Emily Brenner Emily Brenner 5'10" | OH Stanley-Boyd | 2023 State WI (UW-River Falls) was a powerhouse on the pin and knew how to put balls away on the court.
Setter Reinya Balderson Reinya Balderson 5'6" | S Marshfield | 2023 State WI (Waldorf) ran the show for Wisconsin Ice . She has clean hands and a gritty mentality. She utilizes every weapon on offense and moves the ball around well. Alli Schauls Alli Schauls 5'10" | OH Wausau West | 2024 State WI is an energizer on the court and makes big plays in big moments. Every athlete on this team was key to their success and earning a bid including Sage McKeough Sage McKeough 5'10" | MB Wausau East | 2023 State WI (Lindenwood – trapshooting) and Hayden Willner.
