As we shared a couple of months back, we love looking at the player’s highlights and sharing some insight on what we saw when viewing. I try to spread the wealth, so if your name has been mentioned in the vault before this club season know we saw it, we just want to highlight as many people as possible.
Very good in front and behind the setter. She is quick off the ground and has good footwork on her slide. I also love her ability to get to the pins to assist in the block.
Highlights
Bloor pushes the ball to the far pin very well. She gets her feet set before setting the ball and never looks rushed or out of control. Behind the service line, she sends a ball over that creeps up on the receiving team. Then when she has them on their heels she’ll drop it right in front of them. She is also strong defensively from right back.
Highlights
Gosh she’s good. Her instincts are phenomenal. She has a quick first step. She’s fearless. She passes half of the court often. Hatton is quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the libero jersey.
Highlights
Let’s keep talking about liberos. Normile is a beast. You can catch her on video all over the court making one arm saves and laying out for balls. She is poised in serve receive, typically passing the ball right to spot.
Highlights
Very happy to see Davis taking a majority of her swings from the pin and in not trying to play coach, her high school would probably benefit more with her there versus in the middle. She is just so explosive and sees the floor very well from the outside. The biggest compliment I can give is her passing has improved.
Highlights
Pocius has a motor on her and like Davis mentioned above, has a level of explosiveness to her many would love to own. She is quick off of two feet and can hit many different balls from the middle position. She can cover pin to pin defensively with quickness and solid footwork. She is going to be one to watch for years to come.
Highlights
Decision making is very important to my eyes when I watch film and Hackney is very good in this department at an early age. I love her willingness to jump set to the pins and hold the defense. She is a master of getting first balls out of the net and doesn’t give up on balls regardless of where they are on the court. I must mention her defense in the back row, she’s legit.
