Decision making is very important to my eyes when I watch film and Hackney is very good in this department at an early age. I love her willingness to jump set to the pins and hold the defense. She is a master of getting first balls out of the net and doesn’t give up on balls regardless of where they are on the court. I must mention her defense in the back row, she’s legit.

Oh my…Hackney is on the level of good where I need to go look at the setters on the 15 Elite team. She is so smooth with her sets and has great size. Her defense wasn’t too shabby either.

Another young setter that caught my eye was Hackney, making the trip from the eastern part of Missouri. The Rockwood Thunder setter passed the eye test with her play. She didn’t try to do “too much”, which you see at times at showcase events. She stayed in control and made the plays she needed to make for her hitters to find the floor. Her defense was a strength of hers as well. With Eureka graduating two senior setters, we will see if she cracks the lineup in her second high school season.
