It was my first time scouting a team out of the PK Stars Aquilas club. They split two sets 22-25, 25-14, against the 417 Juniors 15-5 squad.
The squad with players from Southeast Kansas won the event by defeating MAVS 816 15-3’s team in the championship match.
This is the third report from the 16 Select Division play in Lawrence.
MaKenzie LaRue, 6’0”, S/RS, Erie, ‘25
LaRue was a stat monster during the team’s second match of the day. She finished with seven assists, four kills, four digs, and one block. She is an emotional leader for the team and her tip-game is on point. LaRue has a bright high school and a possible college career in her future.
Sayleah Rea, 5’7”, OH, Parsons, ‘25
Rea is a deceptive hitter who can really jump. She finished the match with seven kills, seven digs, and seven receptions. Those are solid numbers in more places than just Las Vegas. The Parsons Viking product will be leaned on to lead her high school team next fall.
Ivery Watts, 5’5”, DS/RS, Pittsburg, ‘26
Watts is a solid libero or defensive specialist. She racked up eight digs and eight serve receptions in the Sunday match. She has a nice serve and communicates well on the court.
Maddie Coester Maddie Coester 5'10" | OH Girard | 2026 State KS , 5’8”, OH, Girard, ‘26
Coester has a big reach. She can jump, but her long arms are what makes her dangerous. The Girard prospect finished with five kills.
Emma Lilly, 5’9”, MH, Frontenac, ‘26
Lilly played front-row only, but she could evolve into a net-front monster. The Frontenac Raider has two kills and one dig. She has an extremely athletic frame and will only get better with experience.
