The final indoor event for the HOA Club Volleyball season was a 16s regional bid event at the Lawrence Sports Pavilion.

One of the teams scouted was the Shockwave 16-2 squad which competed in the Freedom Division.

Prep Dig scouted the Shockwave's three-set victory 23-25, 25-14, 15-13 over Highlands Performance 16-1. The Shockwave would go on to advance with one more win before falling in the semifinal round to [program_tooltip program_id='428884' first='Kansas' last='United Volleyball'] 16-1.

Here is a report on players who helped the Shockwave finish with a 5-1 weekend record.

[player_tooltip player_id='493370' first='Prayer' last='Roebuck'], 5'9”, OPP, Neodesha

Roebuck, affectionally known as P-Raptor has longer arms than your average Raptor. She was a stat monster in Sunday's first match. She almost finished with a triple-double as she amassed 14 serve receptions, 13 digs, and eight kills. The Bluestreak product out of Neodesha was targeted by the other team during their serve attack, but she stood up to it.

[player_tooltip player_id='493581' first='Bella' last='Holcomb'], 5'9”, S, Andover Central

Holcomb played the best of all the setters I watched on Sunday. She finished with 20 assists, three blocks, and three service aces. She can jump higher than the average setter and might end up playing at a different position when asked to do so. She has a really nice touch and runs the offense well. She reminds me of Seaman's Camryn Turner who now plays for the Kansas Jayhawks. She does not hit the ball as hard as Turner did in high school, but she might just have a little better touch setting. I always felt Turner was more dangerous as a hitter, but she is running a Division I offense, so who am I to judge?

[player_tooltip player_id='493593' first='Georgia' last='Ward'], 5'7”, L, Andover Central

Ward is bigger and stronger than most Liberos I have seen compete. She was solid in the passing game, finishing with nine digs and nine serve receptions. There were times during the match when communication seemed to be an issue in the Shockwave's back row. It will be interesting to see what kind of high school season she has in 2023 for the Jaguars.

Alexis Cunningham, 5'9”, MH, Mulvane

At times in the match, Lexi Cunningham dominated the play. She finished with a team-high 10 kills and added two blocks and two aces. She has a sweet swing and can punish the ball. She is tall and athletic and would benefit from adding just a little mass to her frame. Her twin Madi Cunningham also had a good match with three kills. The sisters play their high school ball at Mulvane and should be a treat to watch as they grow their game.
