Lots of talent was being displayed as most of these girls were all competing in their last tournament before AAU’s and Junior National Championships. Clubs like Miami Volleyball Academy, Miami hype, Tribe, Wildfire, High Voltage, and many more came to compete at this tournament. The following are some Outsides that stood out to me during this tournament.
Zori is a pin turned outside who shows a lot of potential at the outside. One thing that really stood out to me about Zori is that she likes to play all her shots deep, and she’s not just trying to hit the shot she swings hard at the deep corner. Great line swing and also has a great deep corner angle in her arsenal. Her serve receive and defense was solid as well with lots of potential. Being a sophomore headed into her junior year Zori shows a lot of promise with a bright future ahead of her.
Devereaux Hoxsie
Devereaux Hoxsie
Dev Hoxsie at first sight kind of wows you with her unconventional arm swing. A bit different, but works and is efficient for her. Hits very well out of the back row and in the front row has a great deep angle shot as well. Her serve receive and defense was very impressive as well as she did a great job at moving her feet back there and getting behind balls. The one thing of all that stood out to me more than anything though was how much of a leader Dev is for her team. She’s always celebrating all her teammates points, always checking in on them, always encouraging her teammates through errors and through big plays. Constantly communicates with her team and leads by example.

Although she played more right side this tournament, Mila impressed me out of both pins this weekend. At 6’4 Mila put up an impressive block every time she goes up. But what makes it impressive isn’t her size, its her ability to set up the block in the right spot every time. If ball is played inside she’s always inside, if ball is passed the antenna, she brings the block inside to block angle. Mila also contributes on offense with her heavy swing. Prefers to play higher sets but still puts balls in play when given a lower set or she can’t get her feet inside to a ball plays her shots.
Ella Garcia
Ella Garcia
Ella Garcia is big for her club team and contributes in many ways. What stood out to me was how consistent she was on serve receive and on defense. Seemed like every ball she touched on receive and defense was a ball that made her setters life easy. Every time she was on serve receive and defense she was constantly communicating with her teammates to all be on the same page and make good things happen in that aspect. When she was in the front row, she proved how athletic and explosive she was on her feet. Did not expect to see what I see the first time she went up to swing at a ball, but I was pleasantly surprised. She has a great swing and great cross court serve on her as well.
Isabella Pedrosa
Isabella Pedrosa
Isabella Pedroso is the definition of an athlete. Although she is currently a bit undersized, she is very athletic and throws her whole body into every swing. Isabella has what a lot of girls volleyball players don’t have which is she really makes sure that every good set she gets she throws her shoulders and hips into the ball on her swing to get power behind her attack. While her shoulders are being thrown into the ball it allows her to see the block efficiently. Isabella helps her team out a lot on serve receive and defense as well.
