As we update our commitments, more players come out of the woodwork, so to speak. Here are five middles with unique traits that make them excellent prospects for the class of '24.

[player_tooltip player_id='133763' first='Marlina' last='Anderson'], 6-0, North Central, Academy

Long, strong and crafty, Marlina always seems to put balls away exactly where they need to be to score points for her squad. She does all of the little things, too---her block is solid, her transition is consistent and she hits high and hard with few errors.

[player_tooltip player_id='110493' first='Abby' last='Sollenberger'], 6-2, Brownsburg, Circle City

Abby is a big and strong middle that excels as an M2 in a system with an accurate setter. Her two-footed attacks are high and hard, she takes up space on the block, and does best when she's involved in the offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='191070' first='Lucy' last='Kay'], 6-1, Fishers, Rev

Of the five on this list, Lucy has the fastest rising stock. She's good in either middle position, can terminate at will, and her arms make her look taller than she is. I would like to see a little more defense from her, but for now, her offensive output far exceeds any minor shortcomings when she blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='133620' first='Annie' last='Canada'], 5-10, Pendleton Heights, Munciana

Cut from the same cloth as Marlina listed above, Annie could possibly play right side as well. Her two-footed attack makes her a future M2 at any level, and her training at Munciana make her a well-rounded front row player for her future. Larger schools might take her to be a right side, as her block is excellent and her attack produces few (if any) errors.

[player_tooltip player_id='200659' first='Taylor' last='Welch'], 5-11, Westfield, Munciana

Another Munciana kid, but this time a true middle. Taylor is an M2 through-and-through, and defends from pin to pin better than middles bigger than she. Always active on offense, she always seems available to attack on every transition play. I like her high attack, her ability to hit all angles, and her defensive prowess. Playing bigger than your height is a plus, and it's a HUGE plus for Miss Welch.
