Among Class 4A programs there were more than 20 players who finished with 100 or more kills during their junior seasons.
Here is the first scouting report on five players from Class 4A schools who finished with kill totals of more than 200 during the 2022 season. Each of these athletes is in the class of 2024 and has college-level prospects.
Emery Keebaugh Emery Keebaugh 5'10" | OH Ottawa | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, OH/DS, Ottawa
Keebaugh finished her junior season with 527 kills. She can play six rotations as she also finished with 393 digs. The Ottawa prospect finishes attacks and can hit both cross-court and down the line. She makes consistent first passes when playing defensive specialist.
Jacqueline Corcoran Jacqueline Corcoran 5'10" | OH Circle | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, OH, Circle
Corcoran is the second player on this list that can have an impact hitting and playing defense. She finished her junior campaign with 442 kills and 335 digs. She is a leader for Thunderbirds. Corcoran plays club ball with Shockwave. Corcoran is a jumper who does a great job of getting on top of the ball.
Fisayo Afonja Fisayo Afonja 5'10" | MB Baldwin | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, MH, Baldwin
Afonja finished the 2022 season with 297 kills. She is a veteran player who has 747 kills during her high school season which includes a Freshman year total of 110. She is a hustle player and communicates well with teammates.
Lucy Reike, 5’9”, MH, Tonganoxie
Rieke can crush a volleyball. She finished her junior season with 277 kills. Rieke had 247 kills during her sophomore season. She also has 123 total blocks over the past two seasons. Rieke has a huge reach and can really rise.
Claira Dannefer, 6’0”, RS, Abilene
Dannefer is a multiple sport athlete who also is a skilled basketball player. She finished her junior season at Abilene with 234 kills and 67 total blocks. The lefty has a sweet swing and quick feet. She is a jumper who can rebound and score on the basketball court. She is a legit college recruit in both sports.
