Indy Cup is this weekend in various locations throughout central Indiana. With the many divisions available, yesterday was the preview of the high school division. Today's edition handles three teams from the 17/18 Premier division. Here they are, with seven athletes total between the three teams.

Although this roster is technically a "threes" roster, there are a few athletes that make this team better than the sum of their parts. [player_tooltip player_id='203133' first='Macy' last='Chafin'] ('24, 5-8 S, Southport) is a smooth and athletic setter from the south side of Indy that locates the ball well and uses her quick feet to get to every ball. Fellow southsiders [player_tooltip player_id='365265' first='Alani' last='Duncan'] ('24, 5-10 MB/RS, Perry Meridian) and [player_tooltip player_id='394368' first='Arabella' last='Shepherd'] ('24, 5-10 RS/OH, Perry Meridian) have skills that make them stand out in their own way. Alan has long arms and attacks very high for an athlete of her size, while Arabella is a beast in the weight room---she deadlifts north of 225---and hits a heavy ball that's hard to dig.

Dunes 17 Black

The top team in the 17s division from Valparaiso has a pair of unknown (to me) athletes that bring it with every match. [player_tooltip player_id='394369' first='Megan' last='Gifford'] ('24, 5-9 OH, Culver Academies) is a primary passing outside that is more than capable of owning the O2 position at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id='394370' first='Gia' last='Jania'] ('24, 6-0 MB, Westville) has length for days, and her high-level of athleticism makes her hard to defend.

Grand Park 171E Tornados

A division of the Academy club in Indianapolis, Grand Park has a ton of teams in numerous age groups that may not travel as much as the parent club, yet has just as much skill. [player_tooltip player_id='172333' first='Claudia' last='Antcliff'] ('25, 5-3 DS/L, Zionsville) is a solid and reliable defender who is smooth in serve receive and always has active feet. [player_tooltip player_id='192096' first='Aurora' last='Schmidt'] ('24, 5-9 OH/RS, Carmel) hits high and hard and is an effective attacker from both pins, despite her size.
