Summerfest Preview: 15U Premier Teams

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the final events of the club season before the national championships, Columbus plays host to the annual JVA Summerfest tournament. Here is a look at a few OVR 15U teams in the Premier division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Elite VBTC 15 Blue</strong><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='403519' first='Ivy' last='Rex']</strong> is one to get on your radar. The 6'2 setter has a good foundation in her movement and contact point that will continue to get better as she grows her experience over her prep career. She has a high ceiling and her size in this role will be something that will be highly coveted as she moves closer to the recruiting cycle. Just over 6'1, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='487102' first='Naomi' last='Cole']</strong> provides a good presence for this team in the middle. She has good length that helps her play above the net effectively when on time and balance in the air. <strong>Ellie Bratton </strong>is an outside hitter but contributes well for this team in her back row opportunities as a passer, defender and at the service line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Mintonette m.52</strong><br>This team has competed well this season including earning two silver medals at qualifying events in the USA division. Outside hitter <strong>Makaiya Turner</strong> is one to keep an eye on as she is athletic with big elevation and the ability to hit with good pace. At 6'0, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='151979' first='Natalie' last='Harrington']</strong> has good size as a setter and uses her length well to swing also. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='412608' first='Ashley' last='Moreland']</strong> is a libero and provides good stability in her presence in both passing and defense. Sharing setting duties is the 5'9 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='787976' first='Lillian' last='Schultheis']</strong>. She delivers a good offense with high hand contact and consistent location, while also offering offense with her arm on the right side at times. This team should compete well at this event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='430852' first='Tri-State' last='Elite'] 15 White</strong><br><strong>Amina Baszille</strong> is a 5'7 middle with good athleticism. She uses her physical tools well to get up and take aggressive swings through quicker options while also showing ability to get her hands in front of attackers well to slow them down when blocking. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='403524' first='Mallory' last='Thorn']</strong> has been the team's primary libero. She has good tools in both the serve receive and defensive phases to create opportunities for their offense. She reads the floor well and has good footwork to get to the ball on balance and with good angle production. <strong>Lila Wickman</strong> is one of their primary middles. She is 5'10 and plays with an aggressive style offensively and is increasing her ability to score as she continues to develop the full range of her attacking opportunities across the net.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
