Avon
Avon’s gonna Avon. The Orioles have a solid roster, with interchangeable parts that can play multiple positions. Granted, it’s June, so we know exactly ZERO about what next fall will bring. With that being said, Alexis Maesch Alexis Maesch 5'10" | RS Avon | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-10 RS, Indiana State commit) will shoulder the great majority of the offense, and she’s more than capable of doing so.
Linton-Stockton
The 2A runner-up from a year ago brings back almost everyone from that epic state title match run. Early returns from last night show that the box scores will be filled with the last name Warrick. Audrey Warrick Audrey Warrick 6'0" | S Linton-Stockton | 2024 State IN (’24, 6-1 S/RS) ran the offense with ease against Martinsville and Carmel last night, showing that the size of school doesn’t affect her. Ella Warrick Ella Warrick 5'9" | OH Linton-Stockton | 2026 State IN (’26, 5-9 OH) is a hyper athletic do-everything outside who can terminate from anywhere and should be paid attention to for not only her future but the future of the program. A pleasant surprise for me was watching Taryn Thuis Taryn Thuis 6'2" | RS Linton-Stockton | 2025 State IN (’25, 6-2 RS/MB) put balls away against both 4A schools last night. With a faster arm and more confident steps, her future looks bright. Here’s to hoping she does some more plyometric and weight training to speed up both.
Jennings County
I rarely get an opportunity to go south to see the Lady Panthers play ball. I’m so glad I saw them do their thing last night in Plainfield, as I got a lot of answers as to what the early part of their summer looks like. Mallory Manowitz (’25, 5-5 DS/L) held her own with the special jersey, and with some more reps and confidence should be a defensive anchor for this program moving forward. Addison Martin Addison Martin 5'6" | S Jennings County | 2026 State IN (’26, 5-5 S) made a ton of athletic plays and is learning how to connect with her hitters against tough competition. With a mixture of youth and experience, this should be a fun group to watch this summer.
