I have a lot of respect for every middle that came to the showcase knowing they were playing a full 4-day intense national tournament following the event. And the middles were out in full force a the Prep Dig Showcase. They were versatile, disciplined, and had great endurance. Here are some middle blockers that were on fire at the showcase earlier this week.
Lila Bruszewski – 6’0″ – Circle City 14 Purple – 2027
For such a young athlete, Lila plays with a lot of maturity. She is athletic and explosive in her movement. It is hard to believe she hasn’t played a single point of high school volleyball yet. Lila was offensively smart and powerful. She has a lot of length and utilized every set she got.
Abby Faber – 6’2″ – New Wave – 2027
Abby was always working on the court. She was engaged in every play and worked to close blocks on both pins. Abby has a lot of potential, and it showed as she impressed with the fast pace of the showcase. She is a player to watch in this class as she continues to gain experience.
Ava Groeteke Ava Groeteke 6'1" | RS Dowling | 2026 State IA – 6’1″ – Club Ignit 15 Blue – 2026
Ava has a high reach and contact point with her swing. She makes tough plays look easy and uses every inch of her length to get in front of opposing hitters with her block. She is very disciplined and works to read opposing setters and react quickly to close the block. She is also dynamic on offense, utilizing shots and swings to put balls down.
Teagan Pocius – 5’11” – Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite – 2026
Teagan is a very physical middle hitter. She takes an explosive approach and has a heavy hand on the ball. Teagan is aggressive at the net and doesn’t let anything past her. She got a lot of great reps at the showcase and used every single one to her advantage. She puts up a huge block and is always coiled and ready to move.
Reagan Frazier – 5’11” – Excel 15 Red – 2026
Everything I wrote in my notes app about Reagan had an exclamation point after it. Huge vertical! High contact! Explosive play! Massive block! Impact player! I just could not get enough of watching Reagan dominate the court out of the middle. She was on fire throughout the showcase and played at an incredibly high level.
Aubrey Benkert – 6’0″ – CYVBC Surge – 2027
Keep an eye on Aubrey Benkert. I am calling it now – she is going to be a huge impact player in this class. She has so much potential and a very high ceiling. Aubrey ripped some great balls at the showcase, but how she sees the court really caught my eye.
Keegan Flowers – 6’0″ – Peak – 2027
Keegan is a middle that elevated the athletes around her. She played with the discipline and energy of an athlete several years older than her. She was always moving and pushing herself to be available to swing. Keegan is a naturally talented blocker with a nearly impenetrable press at the net. She has a high contact and fast arm swing that allowed her to outpace opposing blockers and defenders.
Kyla Mitchell – 6’1″ – Michio – 2027
Kyla is six feet one inch of raw talent. She dominated in all of her skills on the court. Everything she touched seemed to turn to gold. Kyla is a powerhouse athlete whose swings pack a punch. She makes big plays on both offense and defense and is an athlete you can’t ignore whenever she steps onto the court.
Delilah Roman – 5’11” – Lions Juniors 14-1 – 2027
I had the opportunity to see Delilah play at the showcase and then again on day 1 of nationals. She was impressive both times. Delilah is explosive yet consistent and knows how to earn points. She is quick in transition and is always ready for a set. She was impressive at every turn and is a very talented athlete in the class of 2027.
Nora Hany – 6’0″ – Club Ignit Select – 2026
Nora first caught my eye in a blocking drill where a ball is tossed over the blocker’s head to a waiting middle, who hit the ball. She read the opposing hitter nearly perfect every single time. Her stuff block count had to be in the double digits by the end of the showcase. She has great timing and a consistent and impenetrable press. She was also an offensive weapon and was incredibly athletic and disciplined from the first ball of the night to the last.
Eden Roethel – 6’1″ – I AM VBC – 2026
Eden is an impact player who puts up big numbers offensively. She was a top performer at the event and caught the eye of numerous scouts early in the showcase. Eden has a lot of potential and is already a key player for her club team. She is an athlete I have had the opportunity to cover before and one that only keeps elevating her game every time she steps on the court.
