<p>June 3rd and 4th was a great weekend full of volleyball at Momentous Sports Center in Irvine, California. It was the SCVA 16s Power Division Championship. Teams came to play and battled for a medal. Saturdays results had the top eight teams move into round 2 of the upper bracket. The top eight teams were Surfside 16 PV Legends, Coast 16-Luis, Vegas Aces 16 UnderArmour, Forza1 North 16 One, Oaks VBC 16-Gold, [program_tooltip program_id='429552' first='Temecula' last='Viper'] 16-Ro, Rancho Valley 16 Premiere and Seal Beach16 Black. <p>These 4 teams went hard this weekend and went home with hardware. Surfside 16 PV Legends under the guidance of Loriann Perkins, Shigetomo Sakugawa, Andrew Sato, and Lindsey Breeden took home first-place recognition. Ran by setters [player_tooltip player_id='311353' first='Reese' last='Stringer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='312019' first='Isabella' last='Jones'] who kept their offense going. [player_tooltip player_id='397481' first='Olivia' last='Foye'] and [player_tooltip player_id='398577' first='Tifaine' last='Tordjmann'] handled the back row defense, diving and digging to keep balls from hitting the ground. Middle blockers Daniela Rusich, Layla Moore, and [player_tooltip player_id='366672' first='Kalyssa' last='Blackshear'] protected the net with high hands and delivered on the quick short sets. Right-side hitter [player_tooltip player_id='538063' first='Preslie' last='Saunders'] blocked and hit through blocks. Six rotation outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='401372' first='Simone' last='Roslon'], [player_tooltip player_id='400631' first='Kiana' last='Greer'], and [player_tooltip player_id='188236' first='Kaci' last='Demaria'] had power and strength behind their balls to score. RS [player_tooltip player_id='538010' first='Similoluwa' last='Adefemiwa'], DS Valerie Cardenas, and MB Paige Cox were ready to support their teammates. That is how a team becomes champions. <p>Second place goes to Coast 16-Luis. Coached by Luis Cuatok, Gabrielle Blossom, and Said Souikane, Coast 16 battled to the end. With some amazing sets, Setters Jolyna Salas and [player_tooltip player_id='435367' first='Alexis' last='Richards'] kept the tempo going. Liberos [player_tooltip player_id='536129' first='Paulina' last='Baillie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='266674' first='Miliani' last='Villarreal'] who played DS in the championship game were picking up just about everything. Powerful outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='366848' first='Ava' last='Poinsett'], [player_tooltip player_id='398333' first='Stella' last='Dillon'], and Madison McCarthy brought the heat behind their balls to score. Right Side Jenny Li played middle blocker along with [player_tooltip player_id='538072' first='Savannah' last='Simpson'] both penetrating the net. Coast placed second with the support of teammates MB Kyra Miles, OH Sara Dukes, RS Trinity Rye, OH [player_tooltip player_id='478922' first='Julia' last='Marinesi'], and RS [player_tooltip player_id='366837' first='Jocelyn' last='Hammerstrand']. Congratulations Coast 16-Luis. Way to fight until the finish!</p>

<p>There were two 3rd place winners, Vegas Aces 16 UnderArmour who play in the Southern California Region and Forza1 North 16 One. Vegas Aces coached by Ruben Herrera, Lillie Redmond and Meredith Bautista took 3rd place. Libero Trinity Thompson and Defensive Specialist Britani Stone covered back row. Setter Rachel Schwartz took control of her offense placing hittable sets for her hitters to score. Middle hitters Willow Watson and Andrea Romero-Agosto created high hands to get a touch and slow down an attack. Outside hitters Gentry Oblad and Ayanna Watson put serious speed and force behind their hits. Right side Rachel Purser can block and score. Teammate support came from S Kylee Ravenell, RS Ali'itasi Fakatoumafi, MB Madelyn Neibaur and OH Reagan Vint. Congratulations Vegas Aces! Way to go home with hardware!</p>

<p>3rd Place recognition goes to Forza1 North 16 One under the guidance of Morgan Coberly, Austin Meador, and Taylor Lillard. Forza 1 North played tough and did not give up. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='224759' first='Brooke' last='Hansen'] led her offense with great sets and plays. Utilizing Outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='216056' first='Maylynn' last='Mitchell'], [player_tooltip player_id='382780' first='Maya' last='Banks'], and Dakota Zieman to score. Middle Blockers [player_tooltip player_id='466644' first='Emery' last='Tubbs'], Caylin Caballero, and [player_tooltip player_id='487918' first='Brooklynne' last='Traficante'] used high hands to create walls at the net and pounded the quick middle sets. Liberos/Defensive Specialist Carina Zaldivar, Natalie Stewart, and Haylee Sarmiento have solid passing platforms and no fear of diving or digging balls. Teammate Cierra "CiCi" Grant cheered from the sidelines and LB Wesleya Ruiz cheered from home. Congratulations Forza1 North 16 One! Your resilience paid off!</p>
