I remember first watching Poinsett at nationals her 15s year for Coast volleyball.  From an early age she had such a violent swing where she could cause plenty of chaos for the other side.  She has all the shots in the book where she can swing hard cross, line, a roll shot over the block, and is someone who is a lethal attacker from the backrow.  She will be part of a solid recruiting class heading to Yale where they are also bringing in other West coast athletes in Yuri Park and Mae Kordaes.  Yale has been dominating the Ivy League and with these recruits coming in from the Class of 2025, look for them to continue.

Ava Poinsett Ava Poinsett Ava Poinsett 6'0" | OH Francis Parker | 2025 State #63 Nation CA can serve receive and get off a good pass to the setter. She has a strong back-row attack. At the net, she can block by penetrating with high hands. She reacts to overpasses, delivering them back quickly. She can put the ball in the block, between the block, or tool the block to score. Her defense in back row consists of digging, diving, receiving, passing, and popping up balls to save them from hitting the ground. Ava goes hard on the court and plays with confidence in knowing the game. Keep your eyes on Ava as these two crucial years in high school pass by.
