Teams came to play and battled for a medal. Saturdays results had the top eight teams move into round 2 of the upper bracket. The top eight teams were Surfside 16 PV Legends, Coast 16-Luis, Vegas Aces 16 UnderArmour, Forza1 North 16 One, Oaks VBC 16-Gold, Temecula Viper 16-Ro, Rancho Valley 16 Premiere and Seal Beach16 Black. Below are the results.
These 4 teams went hard this weekend and went home with hardware. Surfside 16 PV Legends under the guidance of Loriann Perkins, Shigetomo Sakugawa, Andrew Sato, and Lindsey Breeden took home first-place recognition. Ran by setters Reese Stringer Reese Stringer 5'11" | S Mira Costa | 2026 State CA and Isabella Jones Isabella Jones 5'10" | S Redondo Union | 2025 State CA who kept their offense going. Olivia Foye and Tifaine Tordjmann Tifaine Tordjmann 5'6" | DS/L Lycee Francais De Los Angeles | 2024 CA handled the back row defense, diving and digging to keep balls from hitting the ground. Middle blockers Daniela Rusich, Layla Moore, and Kalyssa Blackshear Kalyssa Blackshear 6'4" | MB Torrance | 2025 State #58 Nation CA protected the net with high hands and delivered on the quick short sets. Right-side hitter Preslie Saunders blocked and hit through blocks. Six rotation outside hitters Simone Roslon Simone Roslon 5'11" | OH Mira Costa | 2026 CA , Kiana Greer Kiana Greer 5'8" | OH Torrance | 2025 CA , and Kaci Demaria Kaci Demaria 6'3" | OH Palos Verdes | 2025 State #7 Nation CA had power and strength behind their balls to score. RS Similoluwa Adefemiwa, DS Valerie Cardenas, and MB Paige Cox were ready to support their teammates. That is how a team becomes champions. Congratulations Surfside 16 PV Legends! Way to finish strong!
Second place goes to Coast 16-Luis. Coached by Luis Cuatok, Gabrielle Blossom, and Said Souikane, Coast 16 battled to the end. With some amazing sets, Setters Jolyna Salas and Alexis Richards Alexis Richards 5'9" | S San Dieguito Academy | 2025 CA kept the tempo going. Liberos Paulina Baillie and Miliani Villarreal Miliani Villarreal 5'8" | DS/L Vista Murrieta | 2024 State CA who played DS in the championship game were picking up just about everything. Powerful outside hitters Ava Poinsett Ava Poinsett 6'0" | OH Francis Parker | 2025 State #60 Nation CA , Stella Dillon Stella Dillon 6'1" | RS Francis Parker | 2025 CA , and Madison McCarthy brought the heat behind their balls to score. Right Side Jenny Li played middle blocker along with Savannah Simpson both penetrating the net. Coast placed second with the support of teammates MB Kyra Miles, OH Sara Dukes, RS Trinity Rye, OH Julia Marinesi Julia Marinesi 5'10" | OH Christian | 2025 State CA , and RS Jocelyn Hammerstrand Jocelyn Hammerstrand 6'1" | RS Academy Of Our Lady Of Peace | 2025 State #118 Nation CA . Congratulations Coast 16-Luis. Way to fight until the finish!
There were two 3rd place winners, Vegas Aces 16 UnderArmour who play in the Southern California Region and Forza1 North 16 One. Vegas Aces coached by Ruben Herrera, Lillie Redmond and Meredith Bautista took 3rd place. Libero Trinity Thompson and Defensive Specialist Britani Stone covered back row. Setter Rachel Schwartz took control of her offense placing hittable sets for her hitters to score. Middle hitters Willow Watson and Andrea Romero-Agosto created high hands to get a touch and slow down an attack. Outside hitters Gentry Oblad and Ayanna Watson put serious speed and force behind their hits. Right side Rachel Purser can block and score. Teammate support came from S Kylee Ravenell, RS Ali’itasi Fakatoumafi, MB Madelyn Neibaur and OH Reagan Vint. Congratulations Vegas Aces! Way to go home with hardware!
3rd Place recognition goes to Forza1 North 16 One under the guidance of Morgan Coberly, Austin Meador, and Taylor Lillard. Forza 1 North played tough and did not give up. Setter Brooke Hansen Brooke Hansen 6'0" | S Etiwanda | 2025 State #135 Nation CA led her offense with great sets and plays. Utilizing Outside hitters Maylynn Mitchell Maylynn Mitchell 6'0" | OH Orange Lutheran | 2025 State #137 Nation CA , Maya Banks Maya Banks 6'1" | RS Chino Hills | 2025 CA , and Dakota Zieman to score. Middle Blockers Emery Tubbs Emery Tubbs 6'1" | MB Santiago Corona | 2025 State CA , Caylin Caballero, and Brooklynne Traficante Brooklynne Traficante 6'3" | MB Glendora | 2025 CA used high hands to create walls at the net and pounded the quick middle sets. Liberos/Defensive Specialist Carina Zaldivar, Natalie Stewart, and Haylee Sarmiento have solid passing platforms and no fear of diving or digging balls. Teammate Cierra “CiCi” Grant cheered from the sidelines and LB Wesleya Ruiz cheered from home. Congratulations Forza1 North 16 One! Your resilience paid off!
