Just south of the Tri Cities is Flint, which is bringing some strong talents to the 2023 prep season.

With some experience middle hitters returning, and two of the top 2022 freshman performers, watch out for this area to be one of the dark horses for top play in the fall.

Ferrill is a multi-talented player out of the Class of 2026 that has produced a really impressive offseason in hopes of really making a name for herself in the 2023 prep season. Ferrill can compete with some of the best hitters in her class, but also can set and run a fast-paced offense. She's got a high court IQ and standout athleticism to be an impact player at whatever position she is needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='226907' first='Eva' last='Long'], S Fenton (2026)

Long was one of the top freshman players in Michigan last fall, getting a lot of experience running the Fenton offense in 2022. This club season has seen Long really expand on her game, making her set for a big 2023 prep season. Long has great touch and quickness, but also plays a very deceptive dump that scores at a high rate. Long also is one of the top servers in the area.

[player_tooltip player_id='500652' first='Gracie' last='Pierscinski'], MH Linden (2024)

Pierscinski stands just 5'8”, but she has a lot of explosion off the floor and does a good job of high-pointing the ball on her attacks. She has a really good feel for where to be at the net and shows a good court IQ, as she mixes in some effective offspeed shots when time calls for it.

[player_tooltip player_id='226913' first='Abbigayl' last='Sells'], L/DS Lake Fenton (2026)

[player_tooltip player_id='226913' first='Abbigayl' last='Sells']

Another dynamite freshman performer last fall, Sells was all over the floor for Lake Fenton, helping it to a great Flint Metro League season. Sells is able to cover a lot of space without looking like she's having to exert much energy. She stays light on her feet while always getting into good position to not have to make late adjustments for a dig. She's got a soft touch on her passes and plays confidently.

[player_tooltip player_id='261176' first='Kendall' last='Williams'], MH Grand Blanc (2024)

Williams was one of the most consistent finishers for Grand Blanc in 2022 and will be relied on heavily going into the 2023 season. Her stationary shots provide a lot of power and are difficult to stop. As she continues to develop her footwork along the net, it should open her up to a whole new world of offensive opportunities.

Alyviah Wright, MH Flushing (2024)

Wright is a 5'9” middle that doesn't have the length of some of her peers at the position, but that doesn't stop her from having dominant stretches. Wright can generate a lot of power and pop on her swing, but is also able to bring her shots down at a sharp angle while avoiding blockers. She has a good feel for timing with her setters, making her an always dangerous hitter.
