Her are six players from the Kansas Class of 2027 whose skills jumped out at me during the Missouri/Kansas Freshman Showcase.

Avery Brooks, 5'9”, OH, Blue Valley West

I really enjoyed watching Brooks compete. She is a six-rotation player in the making. She plays solid defense and can hit. She has a very noticeable serve. Brooks plays club ball with Pohaku.

Cayten Cummings, 5'8”, Yates Center

Cummings has a solid all-around game. This might have been the toughest competition she has played against and with. She needs to improve her aggressiveness and call for balls. She is just a freshman but arguably could be the best player on her high school squad. It will be interesting to see how her game evolves.

Molly Schuler, 5'10”, MH, Washburn Rural

Schuler is long and can really jump. She plays composed and has a solid approach to the net. She is projected to be a junior varsity player as a freshman for a stacked perennial state title-contending program at Washburn Rural. Schuler plays club ball for Topeka Saints.

Amea Lyons, 6'0”, Cair Paravel

Lyons is a raw physical talent. She can jump and has a nice swing. Once she gains added confidence in her game she should be a dangerous scoring threat for Cair Paravel and her club team the Topeka Saints.

[player_tooltip player_id='434374' first='Kya' last='Behr'], 5'9”, RS/S, Great Bend

Behr is a solid setter who will only get better as she gains experience. She has a really nice vertical for an athlete whose primary position is setter. The Great Bend prospect has a solid tip game and can find open space on the court. She will play club ball for [program_tooltip program_id='432164' first='Fight' last='Club'].

Izzy Bryan, 5'1”, DS/L, Pleasant Ridge

Bryan is a spunky libero who just enjoys playing the game. She is a floor leader and communicates well with her teammates. She plays club ball with [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last='']' last=''].
