Continue ReadingNationals came and went and of course we have many highlights tagged to my account. Because it’s the final one of the club season, let’s spread the wealth and touch as many as we can before the high school season. So, that means we may see some repeat names but it’s all good!
Alex Myers Alex Myers 6'1" | RS Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS – MB/Pin – Blue Valley West/ PVA ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]
The reason I’m highlighting Myers again is two-fold. One, she probably would be my clubhouse leader of players who took the biggest leap forward from high school to the club season this last year. The second reason, I watched her highlights from the Mo/Kan event this summer. She is taking a lot of swings from the pin for her Blue Valley West team and she looked so good! This is a move I applaud!
Fiona VanDyke Fiona VanDyke 6'1" | RS Lawrence Free State | 2024 State KS – OH – Lawrence Free Stake/ PVA ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]
Really liked what I saw from VanDyke in Chicago. You can tell she has a little more bounce in her jumping ability on her swings! She was able to tear up the line on many Power ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]ful swings. What stood out for me was her defense and blocking on the outside. She’s primed for a strong final year in Lawrence.
Kennedy A. Jones – MB/OPP – Francis Howell North/ Rockwood Thunder
Another player who saw their game take new heights in Jones. We highlighted her earlier this year and her defense was what caught our eye first. Over the course of the season, you saw her offense improve with her shot selections and angles. At 6’2″, she will be a good pick-up for a school.
Harper Dye Harper Dye 5'6" | OH Lawrence | 2025 State KS – DS/RS – Lawrence/Kansas United
One thing you can see from Dye’s videos is she is dependable in serve receive. She passes the ball to the spot with consistency and accuracy. She has good footwork as a passer, which allows her to make it look easy. Defensively, that footwork along with her speed allows her to get in position to get tough attacks up to her setter.
Alex Klukvin Alex Klukvin 5'7" | DS/L Olathe Northwest | 2025 State KS – Libero – Olathe Northwest/ Power ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’]
The only thing Klukvin’s national highlights did was confirm how cold she is. Cold means really good for those not up on the lingo. The speed and effort she displays on the floor make you want be stand up and applaud. She gets to the short balls and shows pancakes are served any time of the day. She takes on the balls that come at her head and gets them up with ease. Don’t be surprised to see her spot in the rankings move up after this club season.
Audrina Flesher Audrina Flesher 5'7" | S Eisenhower | 2026 State KS – Setter – Showtime Volleyball
Fisher is a player who was recognized as a promising setter from the most recent Prep Dig showcase. The highlights I had a chance to check out earlier this month saw her primarily in a defensive role but taking some sets and swings from the playing right back. From what I saw she is solid in the right back. She makes some tough defensive plays. When she needed to set, she looked calm and poised and make good sets.
Alyssa Young Alyssa Young 5'8" | DS/L Blue Valley West | 2026 State KS – Libero/DS – Blue Valley West/ Power ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’]
Young first jumped on my radar last December during the Prep Dig 250. She was lights out then and she continues to be light out now as evidenced by her Mo/Kan Top 10 highlights. She still makes unbelievable one-arm plays from left back and makes tremendous sets with the second ball out of system. She will be key in Blue Valley West’s attempt to get back to the state tournament.
Alana Brewster Alana Brewster 5'11" | MB Silver Lake | 2025 State KS – Pin/MB – Silver Lakes/Topeka Saints
Chi-town was good to Brewster as she make quite a few plays to put together a strong highlight film. She is fierce defensively as seen by her opening play in her highlight. She is quick off the ground, which proves to be a great asset on both offense and defense. She imposes her will on offense with quick sets in front of the setter with her angles and Power ‘ last=”]. Her slide isn’t too shabby also.
Ella Bolan Ella Bolan 5'11" | OH Silver Lake | 2025 State KS – DS – Silver Lake/Topeka Saints
Bolan, as she says to “get it done” in the back row in her recent highlights. She has great technique and holds a strong platform in the passing game. In handling the attack, she does a good job of getting under the ball with her anticipation and reads. She is a player who will be fun to watch this fall.
Layla Collins Layla Collins 5'11" | OH Washburn Rural | 2025 State KS – Pin – Washburn Rural/KS United
This is my first time watching Collins at length and I like what I see. She is another rising pin player who has great upside. I really like how she gets her feet under the ball to take quality swings on balls not pushed out to the pin or out of system. She doesn’t waste an attack and goes to terminate every ball she swings at. Her blocking technique was strong as she does a good job of pressing over the net.
