Young is a defensive whiz, who continues to hone and evolve her game under solid club and prep coaches. During her junior season, she recorded 187 digs in 95 sets. Entering her senior season she is 24 digs away from reaching 500 career digs. She has a nice serve, has scored over 100 points in back-to-back seasons off her serve, and has registered 30-plus aces in the past two campaigns. She is ranked No. 110 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026.

Young is no stranger to use and we are familiar with her game. Still, watching her poise and playmaking on video never gets old. The thing I notice more now watching her Power League Day 1 video is her command of the back row. You can tell even on video she uses her voice and has no problem cutting in front of a player to make the play due to awareness and foot speed.

I remember watching Young earlier in the season and she is still tough as nails. What impressed me most watching her highlight video is her work to cover balls. She gets low and gets plenty of balls up many wouldn’t due to positioning and anticipation. She will be a good get for a program.
