Here is a look at some rising stock in the region and those to keep an eye on as we head into the high school season. The Class of 2027 is taking shape as a few of these standouts have not yet seen the high school court yet. Here is a look at some incoming freshmen and some on the radar upperclassmen!
5’9” OH Bo Bronson Bo Bronson 5'10" | OH Shawnee Mission Northwest | 2027 State KS out of Shawnee Mission Northwest and plays club for Power ‘] had a great showcase for a freshman. She jumps and transitions well. This allows her to hit the ball all over, including a nice line shot which is tough to dig to the well. Bronson can also find the open floor with a sneaky tip as well. She is super athletic and touches all balls on defense as well. Keep an eye on this upcoming freshman!
5’10” Class of ‘27 MH out of Topeka High School and play club for Topeka Saints is Campbell Dawson Campbell Dawson 5'10" | MB Topeka | 2027 State KS . This freshman can find the open floor. During one of the wash drills, she had close to 7 kills in a row just by finding the open floor, running the slide, and tooling high hands. Dawson is strong, has good body control and has a high ceiling. She will wear out opposing defenses just by making their middle work to block her. Keep her on your radar!
Class of 2027 Tinley Wilson Tinley Wilson 5'10" | OH Holton | 2027 State KS a 5’9” RS out of Holton High School and plays club for Club North has long levers. She reads hitters well and has great body control for a freshman. Wilson can jump and hit well and step in to set if needed, She played great floor defense during a wash drill to add to her stockLook for her to be a jack of all trades type player. Really liked her hustle out on the floor and in and out of drills. Keep tabs on her!
5’9” Class of ‘25 RS Macey Jackson Macey Jackson 5'9" | RS Blue Valley Southwest | 2025 State KS plays way bigger than 5’9”. The lefty is Power ful and can jump out of the gym. Jackson plays well above the net when swing blocking and hitting with an incredible reach. Her heavy arm and big block make her a sure threat at the opposite hitter position. Her hustle off and on the court is also an upside. Take note of this lefty!
Kenzy Mcartor a 6’0” Middle Hitter from Clearwater High School and KNVBC Showtime Club is a force to be reckoned with. Tall and super athletic, she transitions out on the pin so well. She does a fantastic job on the outside. McArtor has a wide range of shots including a nice off speed and roll shot. Last year she hammered 330 kills increasing her career total to 470. She also chipped in an incredible 60 aces last fall and 123 digs. The middle plays with a lot of passion and fire and would also be an option on the outside. It will be fun to continue to watch this athlete continue to grow and succeed!
That was just a sneak peak from some top performers from two courts on Saturday. The Class of 2027 is gearing up for an incredible start to their careers while the other classes are adding a cherry on top to their stock as they continue to grow and improve throughout their careers. Keep tabs on these fantastic performances!
