She has good length and has improved the quality of her blocking to be able to get in front of opposing pin hitters well and slow them down more consistently. Offensively, she creates a high elbow swing that helps her get on top of the ball well when she gets her feet there on time. She has raised her stock this club season and has developed into a reliable component for this squad to complement the offense they get from others.

She can terminate through the full range of middle options with good space and timing. With her recent opportunities to swing on the pins in preparation for nationals, she has shown her ability to be able to take similarly aggressive and high contact swings on both sides of the floor. Her offensive versatility is among the best in the greater Cincy area as she has big [program_tooltip program_id='431827' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431827' first='Elevation' last='']' last=''] touching over 10'.

Emsley Vernard - NKYVC 15-1 Tsunami
Vernard has been the floor leader for the core group of this team for multiple seasons. She has been generating some recruiting buzz given her ability to distribute offense with simple mechanics, high hands, good touch and tempo, and given her size at 6'0. Her length is a huge asset for this position as she can put up a good block while she has also improved her defensive skills in the back row. NKYVC will open play as part of Pool 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='151970' first='Dylan' last='Hunt'] - Mintonette m.61
At the opposite position, Hunt has increasingly shown capability to take big swings and terminate in key moments for her team. At 5'11, when she gets her feet to the ball on balance she can swing with good pace and through the full range of the court. She has also improved the quality of her offense through other attack points, which helps provide added depth to a team that relies a lot on offensive options in front of the setter.

[player_tooltip player_id='151969' first='Kennedy' last='Smith'] - Mintonette m.61 (*pictured)
Smith combines with a couple other teammates to provide the bulk of their serve receive passing and back row defense. Although not the libero for this group, she is very reliable in her first-touch production for multiple rotations, which in part is due to her frame at 5'9 that extends her court coverage and contributes good length in her platform and angle production. She reads the court well and puts herself in good situations to be able to create quality transition opportunities for their offense.
