The latest 2024 Rankings update is up and live!

Showcasing a lot of movement throughout this class with another year of club season under their belt. Rankings are done with consideration of resumes to date, considerations from coaches across the country that include college and club, as well as college projections.

Let's take a look at the latest 2024 Rankings update in Michigan. Focusing on the Top Ten!

Top 3 Breakdown

[player_tooltip player_id='110295' first='Elana' last='Erickson']

The top three to the 2024 rankings has had a little bit of a shake up. The new number 1 prospect in the 2024 class is Western Michigan commit, OH [player_tooltip player_id='110295' first='Elana' last='Erickson'] (FaR Out/Forest Hills Northern). Erickson has been a consistent and somewhat underrated player out of the west side. She's a player that can act as a second libero on the court with her heightened pass and defense abilities. But don't let her get hot at the net, she has a hammer! Erickson has led FaR Out to a National Championship at the 18s level and a top 5 finish in both AAU 16 and 17 Open divisions.

Following Erickson is FaR Out teammate and future Bronco teammate, L [player_tooltip player_id='110318' first='Carley' last='Piercefield'] (FaR Out/Lakewood). Piercefield has consistently been amongst the top of the crop throughout the entirety of her prep career. Personally, I have seen this player do some amazing things with both FaR Out and Lakewood. Alongside Erickson, Piercefield has been a part of all of those high finishes at FaR Out. As well, she's been a critical cog in the Lakewood legacy on the high school level.

Rounding out the top 3, we have this future Fighting Irish in the middle, [player_tooltip player_id='110282' first='Mallory' last='Bohl']. MB [player_tooltip player_id='110282' first='Mallory' last='Bohl'] (Saline/Legacy) may have only had a limited career thus far. An early season ACL injury last fall left Bohl sidelined for the entirety of her junior year. But what we've seen so far of Bohl is mighty impressive. A 6'3 tower in the middle, Bohl is one of the top middles you can find in the class of 24. She'll be on the comeback this fall for Saline, as they look to improve upon last year's semifinal appearance, before Bohl graduates early to Notre Dame.

4-7 Breakdown

Kicking off the 4-7 breakdown. OH [player_tooltip player_id='110288' first='Cayla' last='Cogan'] (Clarkston/Legacy) was having a breakout season with Clarkston in the fall. Her capabilities to take over matches toward the latter portion of the season was incredible to witness. Unfortunately, Cogan's season would end short in the Division 1 Quarter Finals, as Cogan would go down with an ACL tear. Regardless of the missed time, Cogan has established herself as one of the top dogs in the state. Much like Bohl, Cogan will look to this fall as her grand return to the court before heading to George Washington in the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='110305' first='Kendall' last='Hopewell']

Five through six are a pair of west side products with big careers ahead of them. MB [player_tooltip player_id='110305' first='Kendall' last='Hopewell'] (FaR Out/Forest Hills Northern) may be one of my personal favorites to watch in this class. Get you a middle that can do it all! Throwing bombs in the middle or on the right pin. Throwing up walls all around the net. Then she gets to the back court and plays like a top rated libero. Northern Kentucky has gotten themselves a true dandy with this one. Alongside Erickson, she's been a part of all of the FaR Out success, but also helped lead FH Northern to a final four this past fall.

S [player_tooltip player_id='110292' first='Zoey' last='Dood'] (Grandville/MVA) has been another top dog for quite sometime in this class. Still a high ranked player, Dood has sort of fallen under the radar this past year. At 6'2 and with a lefty whip of an arm, Dood brings a lot of intangibles to the court with her different attributes. Dood will look to have a big senior year with Grandville before heading out to the University of Virginia in the winter.

Rounding out the middle portion of the 2024 Top Ten. L [player_tooltip player_id='110301' first='Hailey' last='Green'] (North Branch/Michigan Elite) is the lone player within the top ten to have won a state championship! She's one of the top rated 'bros in the class. Green has been an incredible commodity in the high school game from her very first game in a North Branch jersey. It's because of this player's game that the Bronco's have been able to bring home a state title to this Thumb-area powerhouse. Green has yet to find her next landing spot post HS ball, but I am sure we will be finding out within the fall.

8-10 Breakdown

Onto the last portion of the top ten. Starting off this section strong, we have OH [player_tooltip player_id='153663' first='Allison' last='Pilat'] (Plymouth Christian/Michigan Elite). Pilat is the lone representation of Divisions 3-4 in the top ten. Once a middle for Plymouth Christian, Pilat has managed to move to the left pin and seek a big time jump in her game. She's led the Eagles since her inception to the program that's included multiple Regional appearances in D3/4 and All-State honors. Pilat will be taking her game to NCAA DII powerhouse, Cedarville, in the fall of 2024.

Onto No. 9 of the top ten, this player has made a huge jump on the list and rightfully so. OPP [player_tooltip player_id='176600' first='Kate' last='Maley'] (Skyline/Legacy) has been given the opportunity to step up in major ways this last year. With Skyline, Maley was a part of the 1-2 punch of hitters alongside Harper Murray. With Legacy, the absence of both Bohl and Cogan, Maley saw herself as the mean, supreme scorer for this team on the right side. Maley was the critical key to Legacy's top ten finish at AAU Nationals this last June. Her ability to step up and perform in big moments has been commendable. Maley will take her college ball to the shores of Chicago with Loyola-Chicago.

Wrapping up the top ten of the 2024 class, OH [player_tooltip player_id='172198' first='Isabelle' last='Swiercz'] (Hudsonville/FaR Out) rounds out the list. Yet, another power player out of the FaR Out cannon. This class of athletes from the west side of the state is quite impressive to say the least. Alongside her club teammates on this list, Swiercz has been a crucial piece to the puzzle throughout this group's success from the 16-18s level in club. With Hudsonville, she's led the Eagles to a Division 1 Final Four as a sophomore on the right side, and just narrowly bowed out in the regional rounds this last fall. This player is taking her game to the next level with Central Michigan!
