Setters who stood out at the Dallas Freshman Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I love watching these young athletes working with other athletes and showing their stuff at these showcases. It is amazing to see them grow and develop sometimes in front of our eyes as they play in a new environment. One of the most interesting interactions is between the setters and hitters. They really have to be having an "on" day to look great when working with athletes they may have never met before. Let's talk about some of the setters who slayed at the showcase today.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='412642' first='Karsyn' last='Rogers']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rogers is a setter from Eaton High School and Skyline volleyball club. Rogers is fast and athletic. She also happens to be very accurate in her sets, she can hit, and can dig as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='433648' first='Lucy' last='Schwabauer']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Schwabauer is an athlete from John Paul II High School and Skyline volleyball club. She is a powerful athlete who moves the ball around, can pound a hit through a block, and sets up every hitter for a kill. She is a great athlete.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Malia McNeal</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McNeal is a setter from McKinney North High School and [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last='']' last='']' last='']' last='']' last='']' last='']' last=''] volleyball club. She displays great parity, has very effective sets, and she can hit when the play gets out-of-system. She keeps the rally alive and can score on her own. She displayed some stamina at the showcase and accuracy under pressure. She moves very quickly and accurately. She is a very good setter, has soft hands, spreads her sets around, has great range, and is very accurate. She does not appear to tire easily and was as accurate when she finished as when she started.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='433666' first='Samantha' last='Woulfe']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Woulfe is a 5' 7" setter from JJ Pearce High School and [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last='']' last='']' last='']' last='']' last='']' last='']' last=''] volleyball club. She is a great setter and has many other valuable skills as well. She is an effective hitter and a never give up kind of digger.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='433631' first='Femke' last='Smits']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Smits is a setter at Chisholm Trail High School and Peak volleyball academy. She has nice hands and is very accurate over long ranges. She is as good with the short quick sets as she is with the longer ones. She is also quick and gets to the ball with speed. She is very aware of the court and can dig with the best of them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='433629' first='Claire' last='Bundy']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bundy is an athlete from Colleyville Heritage High School and Excel volleyball club. She deserves a call-out as a great setter but also for digging that ball out of the net this morning. That was amazing!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='427824' first='Elyse' last='Lam']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lam is a 5' 10" setter from Hebron High School and Summit volleyball club. Her sets are so pretty, with a perfect arch, with an exact location, and she hardly looks like she is breaking a sweat. Very fast and efficient on the court and very aware of her opponents on the other side of the net. Smart setter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
