Continuing with our look at players we expect to have bigger seasons this fall, we take a look at the pins on both sides in Kansas Class 5A. These are athletes who showed some promise last fall but are primed for more success.

[player_tooltip player_id='222097' first='Taylor' last='Stanley'] - 2026 - Blue Valley Southwest

Stanley had a good debut season for Blue Valley Southwest in 2022. With a year of varsity ball under her belt look for her to build on the 159 kills and 45 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='489777' first='Brea' last='Martin'] - 2026 - Bishop Carroll

The Wichita native wasn't too shabby in her first high school season. Most freshmen take a little time to get accustomed to things so we should see Martin getting over the one-hundred-kill plateau this year after getting 97 last fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='355656' first='Leah' last='Robinson'] - 2026 - St. Jame's Academy

You have to exhibit some potential to crack the lineup as a freshman at St. Jame's. Robinson did just that, playing in 64 sets and getting 86 kills on the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='222089' first='Grace' last='Martin'] - 2026 - St. Thomas Aquinas

Martin did her part in helping the Saints grab a state title a year ago. As a freshman, She saw the court in 78 sets and had 75 kills. Look for more from her in the sophomore season.

Emerson Wedel - 2025 - Goddard

Wedel was just shy of the 200 kill mark as a sophomore and you should expect her to carry even more of the load as a junior.

[player_tooltip player_id='493452' first='Sadie' last='Rethman'] - 2025 - Emporia

Emporia had some good young talent last year and heading into a new season, expect those players to elevate their game even more. One of those players is the rising junior Rethman, who had 180 kills and 168 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='395236' first='Teagan' last='Canady'] - 2025 - Valley Center

The Valley Center junoir to be, Canady showed she can be a weapon on the pin in southern Kansas this fall. Her numbers of 170 kills in 81 sets shows the potential is there for a big 2023

[player_tooltip player_id='493383' first='Kara' last='Feist'] - 2025 - Great Bend

We go out West to find Feist, who showed she can do damage on both pins in her sophomore season. She averaged right at 2 kills per set.
