Scrimmages have started around the state of Indiana, and the first eligible match of the season is this Saturday. We have a ton of talent still available in the class of '24, but there are also a lot of juniors still available. Here are my five best available from the class of '25.

[player_tooltip player_id='155213' first='Addi' last='Applegate'], 5-5 DS/L, Yorktown

From "Libero High School", Addi wears the special jersey for one of the best volleyball programs in the state. She trains at Munciana, is incredible in serve receive, and can defend half the court at any time if you let her. Year-in and year-out, the Tigers produce liberos for big time programs, and Addi is the next in line to receive those accolades. A word to the wise: DO NOT SERVE HER IF YOU WANT TO WIN.

[player_tooltip player_id='172310' first='Molly' last='Beatty'], 6-0 S, Herron

This Achaean is an artist at the setting position. Smooth, athletic and strong, Molly can run any collegiate offense right now, and that's not hyperbole. Her hands are high and fast, she's accurate with her ball placement and can get to tight passes with ease.

[player_tooltip player_id='172335' first='Emma' last='Hines'], 6-2 RS, McCutcheon

With the departure of Chloe Chicoine to Purdue, an attacking void has been left behind. Insert Emma, who might not be able to replace all of the offense, but can bring size and strength to a team in need of both. Her 6-4 wing span makes her one of the longer right sides in the state, she can put balls away over smaller blocks and can be relied upon to slow balls down and make it easier for the defenders behind her.

[player_tooltip player_id='161191' first='Taylor' last='Cripe'], 5-10 OH, South Newton

In short, the ball just sounds different coming off of Taylor's hand. She hits high and hard, challenging blocks regularly. And with the size of schools she goes against in the fall, they won't be expecting the level of (1) volleyball acuity, and (2) pace of attack that she can bring.

[player_tooltip player_id='173239' first='Avery' last='Freeman'], 5-4 DS/L, Bloomington North

I can't believe this kid is a junior. It seems like yesterday that Avery was just a little kid running around a defensive floor chasing after errant first passes and helping her team out in any way she can. Fast forward to this past club season, and she's the libero for the 16-1 at Circle, qualifying in Open at Nationals in Chicago. A stalwart in the back row, she can receive serve and defend half the court, and had to regularly this past spring. She's probably my favorite defender in this class, and has been for quite some time.
