Here in Indiana, we have what seems like endless talent in the sport of volleyball. Some think that basketball rules all in the Hoosier State. I like to call those people "wrong". Here are five uncommitted athletes that will make waves as the fall season starts with scrimmages this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='210180' first='Lilly' last='Tappel'], 5-10 OH, Providence

I could have picked three kids from Providence in this spot, as [player_tooltip player_id='143807' first='Makenzie' last='Wagner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='114355' first='Camila' last='Adams'] could have easy made this list. All three are state champs, after all. Lilly is a primary-passing, six-rotation outside who should never come out of the game because of what she brings physically as well as her leadership. She'll be the catalyst for another run at the 3A state title for the Pioneers, and should be counted on when her squad needs a side-out. I look forward to seeing them play against Kentucky volleyball powerhouse Mercy next week.

[player_tooltip player_id='110517' first='Marin' last='Sanchez'], 5-10 OH, Andrean

No one player has been more responsible for their respective varsity squad over their career than Marin has had for the Fighting 59ers. She'll pass 1000 kills this fall and, with a little luck, surpass the 1000 dig mark as well. Sprinkle in a state title a few seasons ago, and you have the quintessential leader in the clubhouse for Andrean volleyball success. A six-rotation primary-passing outside that can carry a squad? Sounds like she's more than ready for the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='110514' first='Whitney' last='Scherrer'], 6-2 S, North Central

It's hard to say that a 6-2 setter has been "overlooked" at North Central, but that's what's happened here. Teammate and fellow setter [player_tooltip player_id='110513' first='Emery' last='Moore'] will be signing with Penn this signing period, and has had a ton of accolades over the years. Now, it's Whitney's turn. She's tall, long and lean, with fast feet to wherever she goes. She can get the tight or overpassed ball, give a hittable ball to her hitters and all without complaint or negativity. A leader by example, this Munciana kid can run the show right now at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='110492' first='Scarlett' last='Kimbrell'], 6-0 OH/MB, Franklin Community

A dual-sport athlete (basketball), Scarlett has seen her fair share of success with the orange ball, as the Grizzly Cubs have recently been to the state title game in basketball. In volleyball, she used her basketball knowledge to dominate in the middle. Fast-forward to this past calendar year, and she's been moved to the pin where she can hammer away at smaller, less athletic blocks in her high school conference. Her club season was kind of a wash---numerous injured fellow teammates truncated her club season, so she's hoping a solid senior season this fall and a healthier club team next spring will get her the exposure that she's certainly earned.

[player_tooltip player_id='110502' first='Brooklyn' last='Edmonds'], 5-9 OH, Rossville

Springy and lithe, Brooklyn plays outside for her Boiler Juniors squad while dominating the middle during the fall. Her ability to pass and attack, combined with her high volleyball IQ, makes her a prime candidate for a smaller school to invest time in this spitfire of a teammate. Easily coachable and more than willing to put the work in, Miss Edmonds plays bigger and stronger than her 5-9 frame dictates, and makes you pay dearly for overlooking her because of her size.
