Last year Class 2 was going to come down to three teams taking the title, Hermann, Saxony, or Jefferson. This year's field is wide open, and Saxony Crusaders get my nod for the preseason number 1. 1 of only two teams that are returning enough offensively and defensively to take the title. Hermann is always in the mix for a title run, and this year will be no different. Class 2 could end up with 3 or 4 new teams in the final four but could change with the multiplier in place.

6.Liberty Mnt. View Eagles 27-5-2

[player_tooltip player_id='168904' first='Bre' last='Daniels'] returns for her final season and will have help from Korie Lind to get the Eagles back into the playoffs. Year in and year out, Liberty is one of the most challenging Class 2 teams, and this year will be no different.

7.Lone Jack Mules 30-3

Replacing the team's kill leader will be easier by having Delaney Richards, [player_tooltip player_id='495365' first='Kaylee' last='Kindall'], and Chelsea Richards back. The Mules were 3 points from the school's first final-four berth. Will this be the year for the Mules?

8.Diamond Wildcats 25-10-6

Caitlin Suhrie and [player_tooltip player_id='737632' first='Lauren' last='Turner'] will be the key offensive players for Diamond this year, and they are hoping to get the Wildcats back to a final four after a long drought. Getting past Fair Grove or Strafford in the southwest will be a challenge.

9.Licking Wildcats 23-12-3

[player_tooltip player_id='195373' first='Hannah' last='Medlock'] had a tremendous season and ended with 416 kills. She will need another season like this to give the Wildcats a fighting chance at a playoff run.

10.Jefferson Blue Jays 32-5-1

After losing seven star-studded seniors, defending state champions will have a new team this year. Beth Dalton is the only returning player with significant playing time and will be the driving force to get Jefferson back into the playoffs. Jefferson should be in good shape for another good season if they can replace some of the attacks they lost to graduation.
