Our last edition of the top five attackers club in each class has us focused on an eclectic group of size, athleticism and strength. Here are five kids carrying their respective squads with their arms.

'24, Chloe Price, 5-11 OH, Morgan Township

At 8-2, the Cherokees are already continuing their success on the volleyball court from previous years. Leading the way is Chloe, a big and physical pin attacker at the next level who probably has to play middle on her high school squad for size purposes. She's leading her squad in kills and blocks, and should be a force to be reckoned with moving forward.

'25, [player_tooltip player_id='261049' first='Sara' last='Zarse'], 5-9 MB/OH, Tri-County

A Boiler Juniors product, Sara is a stud of an athlete that is springy with a quick arm. Her projections have her as a pin attacker at the next level, but her middle play is quicker and she jumps higher than most of the middles she'll face this fall. Leading her squad in kills, digs and aces certainly has helped the Cavaliers in their early season run.

'24, [player_tooltip player_id='110507' first='Leigh' last='Carnes'], 5-10 S/OH, Springs Valley

Leigh is a do-everything player for the Blackhawks; she sets from the back row and bombs away on opponents while in the front row. At 6-1, their lone loss was in the season opener to defending 3A champ Providence. In the same tournament, however, they knocked off volleyball powers Tri-West and Trinity Lutheran. Her 4+ kills per set while hitting north of .350 as a 6-2 setter is impressive, and you wouldn't even know that her preferred position is setting.

'25, [player_tooltip player_id='162649' first='Bryn' last='VanVleet'], 5-10 MB, Seton Catholic

In the eastern part of the state is where we find Bryn. She's a big and aggressive middle who will probably play on a pin in college in two years. She leads the Cardinals in so many ways---kills, digs, aces and blocks are the four main categories that are hers, and her hitting percentage (nearly .300) shows her efficiency even when the whole gym knows where the ball is going. Often in 1A, teams have one player that they rely on. Bryn is that player.

'24, Shaye Watson, 6-0 RS/OH, Elkhart Christian

Probably a right side when colleges start calling, Shaye is a broad-shouldered and physical attacker that can be intimidating to go against on the block. She's already passed 100 kills on the season, and has nearly four times as many as her next best teammate. She's also adept at floor defense, averaging over three per set while leading the squad in digs. Shaye is yet another example of how some 1A squads have that one kid that they lean on for success.
