Here are scouting reports on Prairie players with photos after that:
I’m not sure why this kid isn’t receiving more love on the recruiting trail. It’s not like right-sides this good grow on trees. She’s steadily improved from last season through club ball and into this campaign. Wazac is an explosive athlete with long arms and a big, lefty swing. She’s really taken a step forward on the outside and middle, and defends well at the net.
Highlights
Like her classmate Wazac, Ray continues getting better and more consistent, which is especially true with her setting. Her offerings are crisp and precise. She’s not a one-trick pony, either, holding up very well in the back row for a team that uses two setters.
Highlights
Ryann Decker
Ryann Decker
Perhaps no Prairie Hawk has improved more from last season to this one than Decker. She springs off the floor and hangs high before bringing down the hammer from the outside. Her athleticism helps her defend the net and move well in the back.
Heather Hingst
Heather Hingst
Hingst is advanced for a freshman. She sees the opponent’s system well, which helps her slide into the right position in the middle. She can leap and shows good timing. She can also burns teams with her swing when they shade outside.
Ella Beach
Ella Beach
Beach led Prairie with 24 digs against Liberty. She returned to the court on Thursday with more positive production. She’s solid on serve-receive, recognizing spin and adjusting to it. Beach positions herself well based on opponent movement and drops low with a sound base when digging.
Kelsey Taylor
Kelsey Taylor
Taylor’s setter skills allow Ray to roam and help the Prairie Hawks elsewhere on the court. Taylor tracks the ball well on the other side of the net, allowing her to anticipate where she needs to be and come up with the best location from which to deliver the ball.
