Here are scouting reports and photos for North Scott from the event:
After watching her compete at the high school and club levels during the last year, what sticks out the most to me about Hayes is the ease with which she plays the game. Like, it’s not an easy sport, but the Creighton commitment makes it appear that way. She deftly glides around the court, getting in position to swing from well above the net with power or turning a dig into a usable pass. It’s hard to believe she still has two prep seasons remaining. If you’re a volleyball fan, be sure to check her out.
Like Hayes, Johnson provides a well-rounded skill set that benefits her team all around the court. She contributed more than 100 assists and 100 kills in ’22 to go with 86 digs and 12.0 blocks. She swings it well from the right side as a complement to Hayes but can easily transition into setting. That’s very unique and very valuable.

North Scott is one of those programs that reloads instead of rebuilds, as evidence by reaching the state tournament four years running. Johnson serves as a prime example for this point. The sophomore stepped right into the lineup this season and performs like a seasoned veteran. She can swing it from the outside and also understands the importance of defense when roaming the middle of the net.

Schermerhorn plays her role very well. She complements Kaci Johnson Kaci Johnson 5’8″ | S North Scott | 2024 State IA , remaining locked in even when she’s not setting for stretches of the match. Her fingertips deliver accurate sets that she mixes up well by being able to see the defense and determining who receives the swing.
Brunkan’s role has increased after starting in one match a year ago. She’s well suited to fill the libero spot as a quick-twitch athlete that moves well laterally and can stoop low for digs. She plays with good balance and does a nice job keeping the ball in front of her.
Highlights
Allard returns after starting 18 games as a sophomore in ’22, when she contributed 87 kills, 41 digs and 14.0 blocks. All-around, versatile play stands out as a key characteristic of this current North Scott roster, and Allard fits very neatly into it.
