Here is a look at four Holton prospects who had solid matches including a freshman everyone in Northeast Kansas should appreciate watching.
Cora Miller Cora Miller 5'6" | DS/L Holton | 2024 State KS , 5’11”, L, ‘24
Miller is an exciting senior libero who has already committed. She intends to continue her playing career for the University of Jamestown (ND). Miller is a solid defensive player and has one of the best defensive foundations I have seen from a libero in Kansas in 2023. Miller collected 16 digs and nine serve receptions in the win over Jeff West. She is quick and has an infectious energy on the court that her teammates feed off of. The Jamestown Jimmies are getting a special teammate and athlete out of Holton.
Tinley Wilson Tinley Wilson 5'10" | OH Holton | 2027 State KS , 5’10”, OH/MH, ‘27
Wilson is only a freshman but when the Prep Dig Rankings for that class first come out, she needs to be considered for the Top 20. She is playing six rotations for Holton as a freshman and was arguably the best athlete on the court in Holton. In a win over Jeff West, she filled up the stat sheet with eight kills, 10 serve receptions, and seven digs. She has a nice vertical, plays good defense, and could still grow a couple of inches in three years. Wilson plays club ball with Club North.
Renn Deters, 5’9”, OH, ‘24
Deters was enjoyable to watch. It’s unclear how dedicated to the game she is and if she wants to play college ball, but she could play NAIA or JUCO if she puts her mind to it. Deters had 10 kills and two blocks in the win over the Lady Tigers. I like her athleticism and her unselfishness on the court.
Elizabeth Schuster Elizabeth Schuster 6'0" | MB Holton | 2025 State KS , 6’0” MH, 25
Schuster is a tall player with a big reach who can own the front row and net when she is fired up. She finished with five blocks and seven kills. She stays out of the net and has a solid tip game. Schuster is a player I would recommend to NAIA and JUCO coaches in the state.
