Here is a look at five athletes I am looking forward to watching in Pool A competition.
Tinley Wilson Tinley Wilson 5'10" | OH Holton | 2027 State KS , 5’10”, OH/MH, Holton, ‘27
Wilson wowed me in early matches this season at Holton. She will be playing against tough teams in this Pool, so I am interested in seeing if she steps her game up. Holton opens Pool A play against Wamego at 8:00 a.m.
Lexi Hect, 5’6, OH, Wamego, ‘26
Hect is a college prospect in multiple sports. I saw her play in August in Holton. She can leap tall buildings, slam balls to the court, and swish basketballs in the net. Wamego will face Holton in its first match at 8:00 a.m.
Kinsey Perine Kinsey Perine 5'6" | OH Rossville | 2024 State KS , 5’9”, OH/DS, Rossville, ‘24
Perine is a solid all-around player who can hit and dig. She will need to have a big weekend if the Bulldogs are able to finish in the top two teams in Pool A. Rossville’s first match of the day will be against the Ottawa Cyclones at 8:00 a.m.
Addison White, 5’2”, L, Ottawa, ‘26
White is a young libero who I saw play back in July at the MO/KAN Tournament at Washburn University. I want to see how her game has evolved in a couple of months. Ottawa will be the favorite to win Pool A and opens with an 8:00 a.m. match against host Rossville.
Bela Major, 5’10”, OH, Pleasant Ridge, ‘25
The Rams have a deep roster and there are several players I look forward to seeing play again. Major is a wild card prospect I really want to see play again. She is a two-sport athlete who also excels on the basketball court. Pleasant Ridge opens its tournament against Ottawa in the 9:00 a.m. slot.
