Here is a report on the Bishop Miege prospects, including a pair of sisters, who posted big numbers in a tough-fought match.
Trinniti Stevens Trinniti Stevens 6'2" | MB Bishop Miege | 2025 State KS , 6’3”, MH/OH, ‘24
Stevens is a complete beast at the net. She has a Dennis Rodman wingspan and is as mean on the court as a junkyard dog. At times she dominated the match for the Stags racking up a double-double with 18 kills and 15 blocks, by my count. She is aggressive and is able to pick up her team at crucial junctions in a match. She has committed to play college volleyball at Middle Tennessee State.
Sophia Sturdy Sophia Sturdy 5'7" | OH Mill Valley | 2028 State KS , 5’10”, MH/OH, ‘27
The younger Stevens played really well against Lansing. She played in a three-set junior varsity match and finished with six kills and 10 digs. She also played in the varsity match due to an injury to an upperclassman player. She finished with a total of 11 kills and five blocks in the five-set loss. She definitely was feeding off the energy of her older sister and the two made a nice blocking combination. She played six rotations during the JV match but played front row only in the varsity game.
Gabby Anderson Gabby Anderson 5'6" | DS/L Bishop Miege | 2024 State KS , 5’6”, L, ‘24
The Stags have a solid libero in their lineup. Anderson finished with nine digs and 18 serve receptions in the loss to Lansing. She makes consistent passes and is willing to lay out to get to tough balls. Anderson plays club ball with Dynasty ‘].
Sammi Schleicher, 5’11”, MH, ‘27
Another impressive freshman who played for Miege in both the junior varsity and varsity matches was Schleicher. During the JV match, she collected six kills. She has a keen sense of when to go with a tip instead of a full-swing attack. She has nice blocking skills. Schleicher is a little rawer than her freshman teammate and she does have a little hitch in her swing. Yet, she has a big reach, years of volleyball ahead of her, and the gift of size.
