<p>Leading up to the October 22 sub-state tournaments, I will look at players from each division who could impact a sub-state tournament and lead their team to the state tournament.</p>

<p>Next up are Class 1A DI prospects who hope to qualify for the state tournament in Dodge City.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='119732' first='Alaina' last='Eck']</strong>, 5'4”, OH, Little River, ‘24</p>

<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>Eck a high-jumping outside hitter for the Redskins leads Little River with 225 kills. She also has 192 kills in 65 sets played. The Redskins currently have a record of 27-2 and are projected to be the No. 1 seed in the sub-state played in Little River. Sylvan-Lucas and Goessel both with 20-win seasons are in the same sub-state.</p>

<p><strong>Vi Helm</strong>, 5'9”, MH, South Gray, ‘24</p>

<p>Helm is a tall blocker for the Rebels. She leads the team with 190 kills and 51 total blocks in 65 sets played. South Gray currently is undefeated with a 30-0 record and hosts a sub-state tournament.</p>

<p><strong>Harlee Randall</strong>, 6'0”, MH, Flinthills, ‘25</p>

<p>Randall is a physical athlete who can hit the ball hard. She unofficially leads Class 1A DI in kills with 366. She also has 69 total blocks in 72 sets played. The Mustangs currently own a record of 33-1 and will be the No. 1 seed in the sub-state hosted by Flinthills.</p>

<p><strong>Kamdyn Trahan</strong>, 6'0”, MH, Yates Center, ‘24</p>

<p>Trahan leads Yates Center in kills with 165. She also has a solid serve as she has collected 42 aces. The Wildcats are currently 15-12 and projected to be the No. 2 seed in the Marmaton Valley sub-state.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='546033' first='Sevy' last='Wurtz'], </strong>5'6”, S, Clifton-Clyde ‘25</p>

<p>Wurtz is a six-rotation setter who can fill up a stat sheet. She has 280 assists, 152 digs, and 144 kills for the Eagles. Clifton-Clyde currently owns a record of 18-10 and projects to be the No. 1 seed in the Wakefield sub-state.</p>

<p>Mizner is a solid hitter for the Grizzlies. She has 207 kills and 213 digs. Rock Hills currently has a record of 16-11 and is fighting for a No. 1 seed in their final matches of the season. St. Francis currently has a half-game lead over the Grizzlies for the No. 1 seed in the Stockton sub-state.</p>

<p><strong>Macey Russell</strong>, 5'6”, OH/OPP, Macksville, ‘24</p>

<p>Russell has 184 kills for Macksville in 59 sets played. She is also a solid defensive player as she has 258 digs and 253 serve receptions. The Mustangs are currently 17-11 and projected to be the No. 4 seed in the Kinsley sub-state that is loaded with three 20-plus win teams. Ness City (23-6), Spearville (23-6), and St. John-Hudson have 22 wins.</p>

<p><strong>Malania Whetstine</strong>, 5'6”, OH/DS, Doniphan West, ‘24</p>

<p>Doniphan West currently owns a record of 15-12 and projects to be the No. 3 seed in the Burlingame sub-state. Whetstine is a solid all-around player for the Mustangs. She currently has 171 kills and 105 serve receptions.</p>
