Introducing Ashlyn Victa, a 5’2″ libero from Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, California. This junior is on a dedicated journey to master the skills of diving and digging. Her competitive background as a USTA tennis player since the young age of 6 has helped her with the skills of anticipation and quick reflexes. Ashlyn has been transferring these skills to the volleyball court through rigorous private lessons, which have been improving her range, speed, and agility. Ashlyn will be playing with Club Bay Area Volleyball Club.
I asked Ashlyn how social media has played a role in her journey thus far and she said, “social Media is a great measuring stick to see where you are in comparison to other 2025 candidates and where college coaches will sometimes post thoughts on their programs (current and future). This really helps in establishing how to conduct your social media posts. It’s also a great way to keep in touch with friends made over the last few years during tournament matches. College coaches have directly reached out to me through social media, and, at the same time, I’m able to keep up with volleyball friends from across the country and beyond. Social Media really makes the volleyball world feel more accessible.”
