This series of articles will showcase those freshman volleyball players who are shouting “We Got Next!”. Let’s meet a few of the players who are showing that they are ready for the big stage.
Natalie Norton Natalie Norton 6'3" | OH Pantego Christian Academy | 2027 State TX [2027] 6-2 Outside (HS: Pantego Christian Academy/Club: Excel/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Natalie is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released her grad class yet. She should have no problem making the list once I update it in a few weeks. Miss Norton plays for Pantego Christian Academy and also for the Excel club program. I loved what I saw from her in person when she attended our Freshman Showcase in Dallas. Her height is what attracts people’s attention, however her skills are what people fall in love with. Equipped with an excellent whip of an arm swing, Natalie can bang with the best in the age group. The ball comes off of her hands with amazing pop and everyone can hear the loud sound it makes. What makes her a great attacker is her unique ability to slice the ball around a block on the sharp angle. She has quietly racked up 507 kills in her first season on varsity which is good enough to be listed as the second most kills amongst all freshmen. Keep an eye on her as she will wow you if you give her a chance.
Kendra Standford [2027] 5-10 Middle (HS: Socorro/Club: RVC Sparks/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kendra is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Socorro High School and also plays club for RVC Sparks. Miss Stanford is able to play all three front row positions. Her primary position is middle and she is extremely efficient offensively. This year she has tallied 421 kills on an amazing .444 hitting percentage. Kendra is extremely physical at the net while blocking and uses her very strong upper body well to press over the net and seal it away from opposing attackers. I love how she uses her whole body to add to her vertical while blocking and times the hitters jump perfectly so that she is at the point of the press while the hitter is at their point of contact. You don’t see that in young blockers as much, but Miss Stanford is great at it. Offensively she has a great eye for holes in the defense and can score with a solid swing and also some great tips/off-speed shots where there is no defender. We love how she is going to bring some awesome attention to her neck of the woods in the El Paso area of Texas.
Siena Ebert Siena Ebert 5'10" | DS/L The Hockaday | 2027 State TX [2027] 5-10 Libero (HS: The Hockaday School/Club: Madfrog /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Siena is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released her grad class yet. Miss Ebert is a back row floor general for The Hockaday School and also plays club at Madfrog . Siena is a taller libero than most in her position and this gives her so much more extension laterally to challenge attacks from hitting the floor. She is leading the entire state of Texas in digs amongst freshmen on varsity with 580 total digs. We got to see her in person at our Freshman Showcase and she wowed every coach in attendance. The only thing that has changed from that summer clinic is that she has gotten even better as she has faced varsity level competition for a school season. This means that you will be in for a treat this coming club season. If you are looking for a game-changing ibero, look no further. We will be watching her very closely this club season and you should also.
