2027 Ohio Watch List: Five in the 6’0+ Club

At 6'2, she was an offensive force at the net with her ability to contact high and challenge defenses with her length. She earned 4.4 k/s throughout the season that culminated with 347 total kills. Playing primarily in the middle, the lefty looks most comfortable with a little more time through a mid-tempo option on the right pin.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='434971' first='Jillian' last='Forrest']</strong> (*pictured)<br>Forrest is one to keep an eye on as she has some high potential as evaluated through her club season at 14U and then as part of Ursuline's varsity effort in 2023. Her ceiling as an attacker is one that will be fun to watch her achieve whether as a middle or through other areas as she has the ability to swing anywhere. At 6'0, she can get ahold of the ball with big power as well as using her court awareness and arm control to be able to swing through the full range of the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480804' first='Kiley' last='May']</strong><br>The Versailles freshman led the Tigers' offense at 2.9 k/s as she earned 263 total kills to start her high school career. At 6'0, she has a long frame that she uses well to make contact high and with pace which can get the ball to the floor in a hurry. Earning Midwest all-league recognition, May was a standout first-year prospect in a conference that featured some of Ohio's top-ranked teams ahead of them in both DIII and DIV. She finished top-10 offensively in total kills while earning over eight digs per match on the defensive side as Versailles finished fifth in the league.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480861' first='Bryn' last='Meyer']</strong><br>Meyer is among the best 2027 prospects in Ohio as she has a great combination and range of skills. Her length at 6'2 is a huge advantage in what she brings to the floor as a six-rotation outside hitter. She can create good range with her ball control and the length of her platform that combines with good footwork and pursuit of the ball when attacking. She can get well above the block in this age group. She averaged 1.7 k/s on 124 total kills as a good support piece for Calvert's veteran point scorers and a team that advanced to the DIV state championship match. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480820' first='Lola' last='Waleskowski']</strong><br>Waleskowski has been on our radar for a couple of years leading to her high school career. She has been impacting the club scene well with her length and skill development. At 6'1, she has the ability to score on both sides of the court as well as put up a block that can impact opposing attackers. She is part of a St. Ursula squad that had a terrific season and will return some key position players in their ball control and setting that should help them be very competitive once again. Waleskowski should factor at a much higher level next fall.<br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
