Before delving into their remarkable talent, I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who has followed my articles prior to the Expo. However, I want to clarify that this piece aims to delve deeper into a genuine scouting report, focusing specifically on the tendencies of prospects rather than providing a broad overview. While future articles will highlight the unique qualities of our top 2027 prospects, this article is dedicated specifically to analyzing the hitting tendencies of our top 2027 Pins.
Lucky Fasavalu, 2027: 5’8″ Outside for Lakewood High School and Mizuno Long Beach.

Lucky is an absolute showstopper whose approach fundamentals are picture perfect. She has great back flight and utilizes all of the power from her approach to gain maximum height. She uses a left arm tuck to gain further power and has excellent hip rotation which allows her to take her choice of shots. Her shot selection is impeccable round the block. Lucky’s arm swing is so hard and powerful that it often powers through most blocks. Lucky consistently lands on two feet which is good injury prevention and will make for more longevity.

Westley Matavao, 2027: 6’0″ Outside for Orange Lutheran and Forza1 North 16-1. Baller TV Bib: 229 Court 2Westley is a powerhouse who delivers so much speed onto the ball with her snap mechanics. She takes a long approach that gains momentum through her back flight and utilizes all of the power from her approach to gain maximum height. She uses a left arm tuck to gain further power and has excellent hip rotation which allows her to take her selection of shots. Her shot selection is impeccable round the block. Westley quick snap of her wrist and chin snap add so much speed to the ball. This power often finds its way through any opposing block.
Asia Udo-Ema, 2027: 6’0″ Outside for Corona Centennial and Forza1North.

Asia’s approach fundamentals are impeccable. She displays excellent back flight and incorporates a powerful left foot plant. Her phenomenal hip rotation grants her the freedom to choose from a variety of shots. Asia consistently hits on top of the ball and possesses exceptional block awareness, enabling her to carefully select her shots. Her ability to generate maximum power and land solidly on both feet further underscores her skill set.

Neariah employs a direct approach toward the ball, foregoing back flight, which results in a fairly linear hit path. Relying on the strength of her right arm, she promptly tucks her left arm across her midsection. Neariah times her hit at the peak of her jump, granting her the precision to target seams in blocks.

While airborne, she executes a seamless transfer of power from her raised and tucked left arm to her fully cocked swinging arm, maximizing her hitting strength. Tristyn channels her power over the top of the ball, utilizing the entirety of her power transfer to execute a powerful snap. Her mechanics make her a challenging hitter to block, as her hitting arm conceals her hit path until the moment of her snap.
