Class AA State Tournament Standouts

led the Warriors to a 4th place finish while Caledonia hit a .398 in their quarterfinal win over Concordia Academy.  Rommes tallied 108 assists, 36 digs, and 7 kills during her 3 matches at the caught my attention by taking a strong swing down the line.  She led the Cardinal attackers with 27 kills in the consolation semifinal win over Wadena-Deer Creek.  Kenning followed that performance up with 21 kills in the consolation final.  She also combined for 41 digs over their 3 was picking up everything at the X.  Offense gets a lot of glory and praise but Redwood Valley's defense was pretty studly.  Farasyn had over 40 digs in their 3 matches and consolation runner-up started out on fire and was almost impossible to stop.  She knows how to run a really dynamic slide route that makes defenders nervous.  Even with WDC taking a pair of losses she hit impressive numbers because she is so effective.  In the quarterfinal, the freshman recorded 19 kills while hitting a .385.  In the consolation semifinal against Annandale, Gravelle tallied 20 kills and added 3 aces.  She's also a very effective blocker, recording 5 blocks in their 2 hitting .333 against Caledonia in the quarterfinals.  She followed that with 9 kills and 3 blocks in their consolation semifinal against Redwood
