Class of ’24 “New” Big 12 Recruiting Class Rankings, Analysis

For the first time, Prep Dig will be releasing recruiting rankings for the Class of 2024.  We’ve been following this class since day one of their journey when they entered high school coming off a club season canceled by Covid.  On Wednesday, November 8 they will sign their National Letter of Intent that will officially mark the next step to starting their college journey.  

How Do We Rank Recruiting Classes? 

This is new.  There is no science, there is no formula, it’s a gray area.  Do we look at the entire class or just the top one or two in the class?  Do we value the immediate impact they will have as freshmen or do we look at what they could do in their entire year?  What about the combination of players coming in along with the players they already have?  What’s the answer?  A little bit of all of the above.  These recruiting rankings will be based on the level of players coming in and what they can collectively do as a class.  Some classes have two coming, others four or five.  Here is a look at the Big Ten Class of 2024 Recruiting Rankings.

Kansas Brings a Big, Talented Class

This has been a big year for the Jayhawks who could be looking to host a home regional match in the NCAA Tournament while bringing in the top recruiting class in the Big 12.  They have three from the top 60. Their top commit, Grace Nelson has been playing for one of the top club programs in the country in 1st Alliance out of Chicagoland.  She has KU ties with her older sister having played at Kansas.  She is a heavy hitting outside hitter.  Zoey Burgess out of Utah and Reese Ptacek who plays for Northern Lights out of the Minneapolis area and preps at Prescott High School in Wisconsin bring a lot of athletic ability in the middle.  They are extremely dynamic and can be used in multiple ways for Kansas. 

Arizona – Best Class From The PAC

Carlie Cisneros out of the Kansas City area is a top ten recruit heading to Tucsan.  Arizona will be playing in the Big 12 starting in the 2024-2025 academic year.  We’re grouping the into the Big 12 now since these athletes will be competing in this conference the majority of their career.  Arizona will also bring in a physical setter out of North Carolina in Avery Scoggins as well as Adrianna Bridges out of Florida.  Bridges has plenty of length at 6’4 and will be looked to contribute out of the middle. 

Kansas City Presence

Kansas City is in the heart of the Big 12.  There are plenty of athletes who will head to the Big 12 from this area where they know they will get to come home to play multiple times a year.
