Her first step off the net is sharp, allowing her to get outside and on time even after digging crosscourt. Ava Jones Ava Jones 5'8" | OH/DS/L Waterloo West | 2027 State IA out of Waterloo West High School and CIA 17 Black will be a six rotation outside to watch this weekend in the 17 USA Division in Minneapolis.  She is a new addition to this CIA team that will be in the hunt for a bid this weekend.  They have plenty of balance and ball control to make a run.  Jones had a huge high school season where she was one of the top attackers in Iowa’s large class.  She has an electric arm that can handle plenty of swings and can score from multiple spots on the court. 

Just electric.  Ava Jones Ava Jones 5'8" | OH/DS/L Waterloo West | 2027 State IA has soared in the Class of 2027 with her ability to score points at a high level.  She will be playing for CIA out of Waterloo where their 17s team should be really exciting.  They have plenty of athletes who can play at the next level and seeing them all together on the court for 2026 will be perfect for college coaches.  Jones brings a six rotation game where she can defend and score from anywhere on the court. 

Absolutely electric.  Ava Jones Ava Jones 5'8" | OH/DS/L Waterloo West | 2027 State IA has had a big year where she earned All State honors for Waterloo West and will be making her debut for CIA out of Waterloo for the 2026 club season.  Jones is a springy, high flying outside who has a violent attack, causing chaos on the other side of the net.  She had over 350 kills in her junior season and was in the top ten of Iowa’s lagest class for total kills. 

Ava continues to prove that consistency and drive set her apart. At just 5’9” with an impressive 9’6” vertical, she currently leads Class 5A in kills. A three-year varsity starter, Ava has been a key contributor to her team’s success and leadership. This week marked a major milestone as she recorded her 500th career kill, solidifying her place as one of the top offensive players in the state. As a team captain, she leads with poise and determination both on and off the court. Just last night, Ava was inducted into the National Honor Society, further highlighting her excellence in the classroom as well as in competition.
