At times this weekend, it was looking like the Aubree show with how dominant she was at the net and the amount of court she was covering defensively. She seemingly had a hand in every single play there was. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While this isn't particularly new news, Deshetsky has been having herself quite the standout season. Not only did she lead this team of heavy hitters in kills throughout the season, but Deshetsky nearly DOUBLED her season total from her freshman year! Finishing the 2023 fall with 515 kills, she only finished last season with 281. Even more impressive, she's even stepped up her game in the back court. Finishing 2023 with 464 digs, this was over 100 digs more than her season total in 2022. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fast tracking to this past weekend however, we knew Aubree was going to be given in heavy doses. But I was expecting her to be this dominating. In sweeping fashion over her two opponents, Deshetsky put up over 25 kills and 30 digs on the weekend. Good enough to average nearly 4.2 kps and 5 dps. This surpasses her season averages by nearly .5 kills and 2 digs per set!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the opening round of the Final Four, the first two sets were all Aubree. Seemingly with the midas touch, throughout the first two sets, she was hitting well above a .400 clip. To go along with 11 digs in this double-double outing, she was seemingly just previewing what was to come. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"align":"right","id":479607,"width":"214px","height":"auto","sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2023/11/D2-SSemifinal-2-10.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-479607" style="width:214px;height:auto" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky']</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not even a full 24 hours later, Deshetsky had seemed to kick things into a whole new gear. For the Bronco's, she led in every statistical category, except for blocking. Leading in kills, hit percentage, aces, and digs, she was the only Bronco to reach double-digit digs in her second straight double-double (14k, .355, 3a, &amp; 19d). Aubree was simply off of the charts this weekend. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was no stopping this player. There was no denying North Branch of their second straight state title. Leave it to this player to bring it all home.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>North Branch concludes the season 56-4-1, marking Deshetsky's career total now to 109-11-1. Aubree wraps up her phenomenal sophomore campaign with 515 kills, 464 digs and 63 aces.
