As you can imagine, it’s a very difficult process. Cutting a collection of 60 great performers down to 10 means a lot of super athletes miss the cut. Congratulations to the elite team, this year’s all-staters and so many players around the state that made it another fun season.
Payton Petersen Payton Petersen 6'0" | OH Dike-New Hartford | 2024 State #55 Nation IA , ’24, OH, Dike-New Hartford
Petersen was the best player in the state this season, regardless of class. She can do it all on the court, highlighted by a knock-out swing that leaves opponents helpless. The Louisville signee’s 616 kills this fall were the second most in 2A. She ranked second on the Wolverines in digs (328) and blocks (36.0).
Chloe Meester Chloe Meester OH Mount Vernon | 2025 State #37 Nation IA , ’25, OH, Mount Vernon
Another outstanding player from this state committed to Louisville, the Cardinals will have to wait on Meester. After leading Mount Vernon to the state championship match in ’23, she’ll be back next season trying to push the Mustangs forward one more step. Meester’s 559 kills (.365) this season were the most 3A. She added 355 digs and 46.0 blocks.
Kenzie Dean Kenzie Dean 6'3" | OH Dowling Catholic | 2024 State #145 Nation IA , ’24, OH/MB, Dowling Catholic
The Kansas signee led the Maroons to the state title match for the first time in program history this fall. She showed off a more well-rounded game in ’23, adding 169 digs to go with 474 kills (second most in 5A) and 68.0 blocks. Dean ended up with 1,182 kills and 171.0 blocks in her career, leading her team in kills in each of the last three seasons.
Bliss Beck Bliss Beck 6'2" | MB Clear Creek Amana | 2024 State #141 Nation IA , ’24, OH/MB, Clear Creek Amana
Beck signed with Drake volleyball this month after putting together arguably the best career in CCA history. She enjoyed her best season as a senior, leading the Clippers to an unbeaten regular-season. Beck paced 4A in blocks (116.0) and kill efficiency (.464 ). Her 420 kills were the third most in the class. She completed her prep run with 828 kills and 230.0 blocks.
Abbey Hayes Abbey Hayes 6'2" | OH North Scott | 2025 State #82 Nation IA , ’25, OH, North Scott
The fourth-seeded Lancers surprised folks by knocking off CCA in the 4A state semifinals en route to the program’s first title since ’85. The well-rounded Hayes led the way with 309 kills, 217 digs and 27.0 blocks as a junior. The Creighton commitment will enter her senior season with 669 kills, 405 digs and 54.0 blocks after two varsity years.
Bailey Boeve Bailey Boeve 6'0" | OH Hinton | 2026 State IA , ’26, OH, Hinton
Boeve showed her breakout freshman season of ’22 was just the start of what could be a special career. She followed it up by leading Hinton to the state final match with 204.0 blocks, 79 more than second best in 2A, to go with 391 kills and 150 digs. Boeve is an explosive athlete with advanced skills and feel for the game.
Jadyn Petersen Jadyn Petersen 5'9" | OH Dike-New Hartford | 2024 State #195 Nation IA , ’24, OH, Dike-New Hartford
Payton Petersen Payton Petersen 6'0" | OH Dike-New Hartford | 2024 State #55 Nation IA ‘s sister proved throughout her prep career that she was a force like her sibling. Jadyn will take her talent to Northern Iowa, where she will play for her mother, Panther coach Bobbi Petersen. In ’23, Jadyn led the Wolverines with 332 digs and ranked second to Payton with 419 kills. Her 38.0 blocks also were second best on her squad.
Katie Quick Katie Quick 5'7" | S Ankeny Christian | 2025 State IA , ’25, S, Ankeny Christian
Quick will join Bliss as Drake, but first she’ll attempt to lead the Eagles to the three-peat in ’24. Quick has been an integral part of their winning the last two 1A titles. She’s a well-rounded setter who ranked fourth in 1A with 880 assists this season. She also piled up 179 kills, 269 digs and 18.0 blocks.
Ella Rogers Ella Rogers 6'1" | S Dowling | 2025 State IA , ’25, S, Dowling Catholic
Rogers was the X factor for the Maroons the last two seasons. She’s a setter with an all-around game that keeps opponents on their toes. The uncommitted prospect paced 5A with 1,083 assists this year. She added 116 kills (.398), 192 digs and 65.0 blocks. In her two seasons as a varsity starter, she’s registered 1,720 assists, 161 kills, 268 digs and 103.0 blocks.
Delaney Miller, ’25, OH, Ankeny Centennial
You may have gathered from this elite team that the ’25 class in Iowa is tremendous. Miller ranked third in 5A with 437 kills. The uncommitted junior also contributed 239 digs and 30.0 blocks in helping Centennial reach the state semifinals for the second year in a row. She’s totaled 707 kills, 360 digs and 63.0 blocks in her two seasons starting on the varsity.
