She had a stellar sophomore campaign as she upped her kill total from 137 to 244, 25 stuff blocks and had 35 ace serves this past season for the Hawkettes. She is so athletic and moves really well. Sullivan has a fast arm swing with a quick wrist and hits quicks so well. She is able to get on top of the ball so well and hit a nice thumb down cut shot from the middle. Payton is one hitter I am super excited to see after watching film on her!
Outside hitter Brinkley Mcadams Brinkley Mcadams 5'9" | MB Weeping Water | 2025 NE out of Weeping Water Class of 2025 has a heavy arm. She hammered 255 kills averaging 3.2 kills per set for the Indians. Brinkley hits really explosively from the back row too and honestly hits well from all over the court. Her career aces is eclipsing 70 and her career digs is at 753. She was a wall on defense at the net as well with 35 blocks. She is a great small town complete player!
Class of 24 5’9” Saryn Prickett Saryn Prickett 5'10" | OH Amherst | 2024 State NE is another small school standout to give a look at. A very versatile player who sets and hits on the pin finished up her prep career. She tallied 680 kills in her career, 538 set assists, 548 digs and 110 ace serves. She ended her career at the State Championship final against a talented Sumner-Eddyville-Miller 3-1 where she hammered 12 kills in the Runner Up finish. Prickett does a great job of having a high contact point and reaching high. She is able to hit the line well too and has good placement of the ball whether it is a roll shot or tip. Don’t sleep on this 2024!
Another 2024 player to look at is 5’4” Libero Tristyn Hedman Tristyn Hedman 5'5" | DS/L Grand Island Central Catholic | 2024 State NE who played for the powerhouse Grand Island Central Catholic who lost in the quarterfinals of the State Tournament a few weeks ago. In her career she had 1,214 digs and served 75 aces. She is a great serve receiver and plays lights out defense. In a game against Adams Central she literally flies across the floor to the right pin to take a second ball and bump set it across to the outside pin for her teammate. Hedman also does a great job of covering her hitters and it just literally all over the floor helping her team. She is definitely well coached and has a high volleyball IQ. Excited to see her on Saturday after watching her at the State Tournament opening round.
Dakota Valley High School in North Sioux City has a 2026 athlete in 5’10” Outside Hitter Claire Munch. She had 315 kills this past season and her career total is already at 602 in her young career. Munch has already eclipsed 550 digs in her career as well and chipped in 76 aces. The outside transitions so well on both pins and is really explosive at the net with a whip for an arm swing. She is also a good jumper and can get a high contact point. She is really fun to watch on film and can’t wait to watch her Saturday in person!
Plattsmouth junior Josey Freel Josey Freel 5'11" | MB Plattsmouth | 2025 State NE is another 5’11” middle to keep an eye on. She runs the slide well and has a strong swing. She is able to hit the deep floater ball that can kareem off defenders and bounce into the stands for a kill. Freel also has great court sense and can place tips in tough places. She had 150 kills this past season and 42 ace serves. Keep an eye on this up and coming middle to see how she finishes off her senior season.
