The LAVBC has been consistently showcasing their players on social media, providing exceptional exposure. We are keen to amplify these player spotlights and bring them directly to our avid readers.
LAVBC’S WEBSITE:
“At LAVBC it is our priority to foster an environment that nurtures strong and confident young people, who feel supported in their ability to voice their opinions and concerns to affect positive change for themselves and those around them. Volleyball is not a complicated sport, but it is a very complex one. Our passion is passing down the many lessons of movement and mastery we have learned, from some of the world’s best coaches, in volleyball and beyond, to children in a way that makes competition, in anything they do, a fun, process-based adventure.”
SPECIAL CLUB SHOUTOUTS:
SKILZ TO PAY THE BILZ. S1 @kaya.richards.vball has been putting in the work FOR YEARS to emerge as one of the top u15 setters in the region and D1 prospect. RESPECT to Director @kauikamalu handing down the lineage of the art.
RIGHT SIDE. @celiafieldz leaps off the page in 2023-2024. This will be a break-out season for the rising u15 Opposite who has been putting in the work for YEARS. The ‘CLICK’ is coming. Tick-Tick-Boom from this lefty on the Red. RED ON THE RED! @prepdigca big things from this high IQ lefty Oppo. with 2-speeds: Fast and faster.
AIR CAMPAIGN. @sam_quirevb comes into the ‘23-‘24 season with the experience of a National Championship appearance as a starting left side hitter and primary passer to her list of credits. Her effortless jumping ability turned into a powerful jump-float last season that we look forward to seeing score more points for Hype-JD this season.
IYKYK. Amelia S. is one of the finest examples of complete player in the region. A rising u14 Amelia already holds a Liberty Bronze, a PVL Gold, a Coastal Combine Gold and an American Gold from the Far Western as the starting OH for u15 Flow-1. The quiet dedication she has shown to her process has been an inspiration to players and staff alike. Her work in the weight room with coach @fitlou310 is in the upper echelon of the club. More Gold coming your way A.S – Les get it!!
FEELING GOOD. Never seen a better celebration from a teammate than @francesca.rebagliati_vball celebrating her girls. This incredible lil-bro/DS lights it up every single time. Her work ethic is non-stop outside of practice and that good energy is non-stop 2x Gold Medal Good between the whistles. @prepdigca 2027 lil-bro watch.
LEVEL UP. Development takes precision timing and relentless pursuit of the art of the game. @caleigh.london makes the jump up to u15 as a multi-skill threat. The OH spent a year in the Bounce Academy and then provided the majority of team offense at u13. She now joins a solid core at u15 as a setter. We are looking forward to big growth in the 2024 campaign.
OG. The voices in the gym that know the most are starting to ring the loudest. Cecilia embarks on her 4th tour with LAVBC as one of the ORIGINAL Bounce Academy founding players. Today her voice echos the coaches before the coach speaks and her leadership comes effortlessly. It’s truly wonderful to be a part of this kind of growth. As she moves to the pins, we look forward to celebrating the great season it will be. For club and country Cecilia.
TIME. Time is both the great destroyer and the scepter of manifestation. Marisol, perhaps more than any other player in the club, has used steady work overtime to transform herself into one of the best liberos in the region. Not only that- her work with @fitlou310, in the weight room, has her touching over 9′. Her attacking ability may just transform her into an attacking DS this season – THE FUTURE OF THE GAME. Hat’s off Marisol who enters competition as a Red Rock Bronze Medalist, PVL Gold Medalist, Coastal Combine Gold Medalist and Far Western Gold Medalist. Keep churning. Keep climbing. Step-by-step!
JOY. Playing with a joy for the game is so quintessential. Demir brings the joy whenever she plays. The young multi-position player has started to really use her bounce. In ‘23-‘24 we really look forward to seeing her split time on the right side. This year is our year Demir!
CONTROL. Natalie joins Flow-JO with some beachy-keen skills. Her length on the block and crafty attacking has made for a positive start of pre-season for one-zero.
G-MONEY. Is it the dad’s first in the history of club volleyball hit hip-hop song or the fact she flys so high? Don’t Know. Don’t Care. We are just extremely thankful for this wonderful family and the crazy amount of work Gaia has put in in the last 2 years. Season 3 will be a coming out party for this MB/OH/Oppo/WhateverYaGot who was named Performer of the Night in a star-studded @prepdigca showcase just weeks ago. Gaia enters the season as a Red Rock Bronze Medalist, PVL Gold Medalist, Coastal Combine Gold Medalist and Far Western Gold Medalist. She was also just named to HS Open Division All City team.
ALTITUDE. Welcome in Mezi! Sometimes the eyes say it all. The desire to push forward, to accept the challenge, to devote oneself to the path of mastery. When we bet on process we bet on the person. Attitude determines the altitude.
FOCUS. Welcome in Julia. Julia enters her first season with LAVBC on team Flow-JO. She brings great energy to the practice gym and a diverse skill set that gives Flow options throughout the line-up. Let’s go get it Julia!
MENTALITY. When the switch flips and the athlete is ready to commit to their dream, the structure of the club and the incredible brain trust of trainers and coaches can go to work to exponentially speed up as well as expand the athlete’s development arch. Jayla, at 13, hit that point this off season. While many things are still very new, her 6’2” frame and 6’5” wingspan give her an ability to contribute at the u15 Flow level. we couldn’t be more excited. The Jayla has accepted the challenge. Les go & let’s get after it Jayla – this is your season!
PERSONAL. Once an athlete takes it personal, they understand that their name is on the line. Every time they practice and every time they compete – who they are as a person will be tested. The name on the back of the jersey will be questioned. We make questions moot by the work we put in before the whistle blows. Kalyani enters the 2024 season with Team Hype-JD as the D2 LA City Player of the Year and a D1 Prospect Pin selection by @prepdigca @coachable247 Questions asked and being answered. Time to put in that next level Kalyani! Proud club. Proud coaches.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS:
“This season I’m going to play as a setter for LAVBC’s u15 team, Flow-Kamalu. I’m really excited to play club with some of my teammates from my school varsity team. I think everyone else has definitely improved during the off-season, so our team can really level up this season. One of my goals for the near future is to stay as consistent as possible. I want to be a setter that my hitters can trust at all times.”

“I am a OPP/Right side. One thing that I’m excited for about this season is playing with my team who feels like a family to me since I’ve known most of them for about 4 years now. We connect on a different level and I love playing with them. Some things that I am aiming for personally this season is to physically be an all-around good player that can make an impact on this team (offensively and defensively)! With me working on my digging and serve receive can really contribute to this team!”
1. I am planning on being a lib/Ds this season. 2. I am most exited for the bonds I am going to make with my team and the energy that we will bring to the court! 3. My personal goal is to give the team tons of energy and wild celebrations and take as much space as possible when it comes to passing and defense.
Highlights
This season I am most likely going to be playing a mix of Outside hitter and Oppo.
The thing that excites me the most about this club season is the qualifier tournaments. I love the adrenaline you get when showing up to a big tournament out of state, and I am super excited to compete against teams from all around the nation!
This season I am aiming to become an even more efficient attacker, I am working on quickening my arm swing to produce a more quick and heavy ball. I am also aiming to become a better defensive player, in terms of digging and ball placement I want to become more accurate, as well as working on my speed and agility to balls.
