This was the first chance I have seen Kaya Richard in her setting role, and I must say, her talent is truly evident. Her touches on the ball are incredibly smooth, showcasing a natural finesse. With a commendable volleyball IQ, she effortlessly sets the ball all along the net. Additionally, she exerts a serious presence on the block, effectively shutting down opposing outside hitters. Kaya consistently challenges herself during gameplay, opting for strategic sets over the easy ones. The Westminter scout said “I appreciate her attempting to make that back set.” Her passion for the game shines through in her spirited celebrations of her teammates’ victories. Furthermore, she boasts a strong serve from the service line, often resulting in numerous aces. Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig

“This season I’m going to play as a setter for LAVBC’s u15 team, Flow-Kamalu. I’m really excited to play club with some of my teammates from my school varsity team. I think everyone else has definitely improved during the off-season, so our team can really level up this season. One of my goals for the near future is to stay as consistent as possible. I want to be a setter that my hitters can trust at all times.”
