Continue ReadingAt Prep Dig, we are excited to highlight various club teams in our featured articles. Austin Meador, the Recruiting Coordinator for Forza1 North, extended an invitation for us to join their practice in Ontario, California, to immerse ourselves in the Forza1 North family culture.
During my visit, I had an extensive conversation with Austin. He delved into his recruiting philosophy, emphasizing the importance of not only the player’s connection with the school they’re interested in but also the connections with parents, athletes, and coaches. His insights on school culture, coachability, and the essential qualities for college players were profound. Any player receiving counsel from Austin is sure to gain invaluable knowledge.
Forza1 North operates at an exceptional level. Attending high school, club, and collegiate practices is a regular part of my commitment to continuous learning, and the two-hour session I witnessed tonight showcased coaching techniques rarely taught to this extent. The intensity, drills, competitive energy, and dedicated coaching were notably impressive.
Step inside and read more about Forza1 North and see who we selected as the practice standouts.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS:
Some players shared their aspirations regarding the positions they hope to play, what excites them most about the upcoming club season, and their goals.

I plan to be a 6 rotation OH.
I am most excited to see what we can bring to the table this year. I feel our talent will only take us so far. I believe our drive, dedication, connection, and perseverance should see us further than talent alone.
This season I have set 3 main goals for myself. First, I need to become a stronger leader vocally on and off the court. Second, I will work on elevating my court IQ. Last but never least, I aspire to be one of the top 5 outside hitters in my age group.

I’ll be playing middle blocker (and whatever coach wants me to play ☺️). I’m most excited about competing against some of the very best teams in my age group, also showcasing my skill. I’m aiming to raise my ‘touch point’, showcase my versatility on the offensive and defensive side of the game and get better as a player and teammate.

Two positions I am planning to play this season are setter and right-side hitter. The thing that excites me most about this club season is getting to progress and compete at the OPEN level with my teammates. Some personal goals I am working on with this season is continuing to progress at my skills on the court, in the weight room and mentally, and another goal I have is to increase approach by three inches this season to allow me to continue to excel with my team at a high level.

I am planning to play outside this season. I am extremely excited to be playing with likeminded people like me. I want to see how far I can go with this team! Personally, in terms of goals, I am aiming to get more college exposure, build more relationships and grow as much as I can as a player.

I’m planning on playing middle this season 2. I’m excited for JOs this year and all the travel tournaments. I feel like we have a really good team this year with a lot of talent and I think we can go far. 3. My goals for this year are I want to improve my vertical and I want to get better at blocking. Another goal this year is I would like to be committed to a D1 by the end of the season.

The position I plan on playing this year is outside so I’m excited to see how this season goes, I’m really excited to work with new coaches and a whole new team and environment after changing to Forza from a club I was at for 6 years so I’m excited to meet new people and learn new things but also a little nervous, The things I’m aiming for this year in terms of goals is to medal in a tournament and to jump higher and become faster on my release off the net!

This club season I plan on playing outsider hitter, but I will definitely play where my coach needs me most. I do have right side experience as well. I am most excited to be creating strong and long-lasting bonds with my teammates. My goals this year are to become a six rotational pin with a stronger defensive mindset, and to of course earn a bid to Nationals this season!

I am planning to play middle this upcoming season. I’m excited to be challenged by the amazing competitive girls I’m surrounded with on my team that push me to work hard and be better everyday. I’m also excited to be soon playing against a high level of competition where my team can showcase our extensive skill set. Personally, I am aiming to be a crucial offensive leader on this team and also establish a consistent, speedy, and menacing block that other teams have to endure.

I am playing mainly opposite this season, with also a little bit of outside. I’m so excited to play my final club season with my amazing teammates for the last time, and also be able to play internationally in Italy! I’m aiming to get stronger and better for college, perfecting my block, and consistently putting down strong and game winning swings to help my team win games.

This year I will be playing middle blocker and what excites me most about playing this club season is getting to play highly competitive teams and have the ability to be one of those teams as well. The things I am aiming for personally in terms of goals is not having so much self imposed pressure and also being able to gain lots of recognition as a student athlete.

The position I’m planning to play this season is Opposite. Going to Italy and being able to play at a higher level this season is what excites me. Some personal goals for me are being able to play to the best of my ability all the time, staying versatile being able to play different positions, and always seeing room for improvement. I never want to see myself stop because I think I’m already at the top. I always want to keep pushing and be better than what I was.
